Today, I would like to review a Nail Polish from Zoya. It’s in the shade “Dot.” I have been loving this polish so much lately that I had to share.
Zoya Nail Polish in Dot can be best described as a full-coverage pink petal cream (originally released as Dot for fashion designer Zang Toi’s SS14 Collection). Top with 1-2 coats of special effect topper, Zoya Monet, for a fun accent! Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde resin, Toluene, Camphor and Dibutyl Phthalate Free. Vegan friendly nail color!
About The Shade:
Color Family – Pink
Finish – Cream
Intensity – 4 ( 1 = Sheer – 5 = Opaque )
Tone – Cool
My Experience with Zoya Nail Polish in Dot:
Zoya is quite renowned and branded as a professional quality nail lacquer company. This Shade “Dot” from Zoya is part of their new Spring 2014 Awaken collection.
Zoya has one standard packaging for all their nail polishes. They all come in a see-through glass bottle. I do like the rounded brush on these though I still prefer the flat shaped brush which a lot of Sally Hansen polishes have which makes it easier to cover most part of the nail in one stroke giving uniform application. The size of the Zoya brush is perfect and also so easy to use and the polish applies smoothly and evenly without any streaking.
It is such a pretty baby pink with a cool tone and with a very creamy and glossy finish. It looks so romantic and to go with that theme, I actually did wear it on Valentine’s Day and got lots of compliments for it. This polish does not have any shimmer or glitter yet it delivers high glossy shine.
Usually, such light shades of nail polishes do not deliver good opaque color, but not this one. I was actually very surprised to see the intensity of this color. You get complete opaque coverage with 1-2 coats. Also, this light shade makes a perfect canvas to do nail art or accent nails if you would like that.
I feel this would be a very wearable everyday shade and look very chic, sophisticated and classy at the same time. Also, I love the fact that these nail polishes are free for all the harmful ingredients like Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde resin, Toluene, Camphor and Dibutyl Phthalate . Hence a healthier alternative to other nail polishes.
I was pleased with staying power on this. With a good base coat and top coat, I did get a week’s wear with minimal chipping. It also did not stain my nail bed when I took it off like most dark nail polishes tend to do.
These polishes are on the expensive side, being in $8-$10 range, but they are very high-quality nail lacquers and with a quantity that will last you a long time. These nail polishes are in competition with other high-end nail polish brands like OPI and Essie which also fall under the same price range.
Overall, very pleased with the quality of this nail polish and more than anything, I am in love with this shade. I usually only like to wear dark polishes, but this shade has changed my thoughts about lighter shades too.
