My Experience with Colorbar Full Finish Long Wear Lipstick:

  • These lipsticks come in a sleek silver casing. Once you open the cap, the lipsticks are encased in plastic grey covering.I like the pretty packaging, easier to carry. Also the caps are tight.

  • I have three of the six shades from the Colorbar long wear lipstick range.

Truffle is a an earthy brown colour. Soft shade and would suit a lot of Indian skin tones. A nice subtle colour for office wear.

Plum Show is a bright fuchsia plum shade.

Tempt me a terracotta brown colour. It has a little orange undertone. On lips, truffle and tempt me look quite similar. i just feel Truffle would be an easier colour to pull off.

Rest 3 shades:

  • The long wear lipstick is matte. It is super pigmented and opaque.
  • The lipstick doesn’t smear or smudge even though every shade is pretty bright.
  • It stays on my lips for 4 hours. These 4 hours include a full meal and some snack munching. Even after a full meal, the colour is still on my lips. Without a meal and just snacks, the lipstick stay on even longer. I would put this Colorbar range in “long wear lipstick” category.
  • It is quite drying but not so drying to make your lips uncomfortable. If you have chapped lips, these might not be a good option for you.
  • The lipstick doesn’t have any weird smell.
  • Colorbar has packed this lipstick nicely. The color stickers are stuck at the bottom of the lipstick so it is easier to locate. Just store it upside down in a mug and you are sorted.

The not so good things about Colorbar Full Finish Long Wear Lipstick:

  • The shade selection is very limited. 4 out of 6 lipsticks are brown.
  • It does not live up to the 8 hour stay on claim. I think that would hold true only if you don’t eat, drink or talk.
  • I think it’s expensive at Rs 550. Most Colorbar lipsticks are priced anything between 200-350/-

Overall I think these are good picks for working women both in terms of staying power and shade selection.

Hi Rati!

I thought it did look expensive, the price, at first. but after seeing your photos, i think that the lipsticks are well worth the price, all three colours look absolutely gorgeous on you. But I must admit that the shade PLum Show looks absolutely ravishing on you. nice review :)
Are there any lipstick palettes in colorbar or any other brand which sport about four of five pink shades atleast? I saw the lakme range but they were too earthy and brown.

Hi Praseena,

Welcome to IMBB. :) To be honest I never mention about the price of the products because I feel a company has full right to decide the worth of their product. Just that mostly people relate to Rs 200- 300 Rs price range when it comes to Colorbar lipsticks. So I felt they went a little far with their price range this time. Plum show is a really pretty shade. thank you so much. :)

I think years back it was Colorbar only that used to carry lipstick palettes. Now I don’t know of any other brand that has lipstick palettes other than Lakme. In Inglot you can make your custom lip palettes. A little expensive but you won’t regret buying them. :)

sorry for sounding like a total blonde. but is it good or bad ?:-)

Im going to guess good thing since – the lesser the lead content the better for lips no ?

Reply

Insiya November 8, 2010 at 2:18 am

yeah i guess too but as nivedita says most of the shades are in the range of red to plum. None I’m interested in :( Preeti could you possibly post a link to the source of your info?

Reply

Rati November 8, 2010 at 9:39 am

the stronger the colour is the higher the lead content.

Thanks Preeti. :)

the colours look alike.. too much of browns….

another fact… browns make girls look older…. said by bobbi brown

Reply

Rati November 8, 2010 at 9:40 am

yeah too many brown. I keep a brown or two shad ein my collection but for it’s mostly pinks and corals. :)

Shyna November 8, 2010 at 12:24 pm

I stay away from long stay lipsticks-they dry out my lips :-( Rati, btw does maybelline/revlon has good coral shades??

Reply

Rati November 8, 2010 at 12:50 pm

I think Maybelline color sensational range has. Revlon Colorburst has a peach shade. It’s not exactly coral , just has a hint of it.

I stick to my Loreal “hold on rose” gloss but guess it’ll be good to try a few dark lipsticks for the winters…I like truffle

Reply

Rati November 8, 2010 at 2:58 pm

yeah truffle is nice shade. :) how is the staying power of the loreal gloss?

Reply

monika November 8, 2010 at 4:14 pm

It does stay well put for 4-5 hours , though it claims 6 hours. One reapplication on a working day is enough, so I am pretty satisfied :)

Hi HD,

Long time. :) How are you doing?

Diwlai was pretty good. I agree that the shade selection is not that great. Hope they include some nicer colours because the lipsticks are pretty decent. :)

Truffle shade in lakme aquashine is really good, and plum too in lakme and loreal. But i prefer pinks and browns only, i think plum makes me look dull.
