I had bought a couple of Coloressence lipsticks a few days back. And out of the lot, today I’ll review for you a shade called Resin Rum.

Rs.150 for 4g.

Product Description:

A unique combination of coriander and basil extract. This lip color protects, miosturises and is hypoallergenic. Voluminises the lips.

Ingredients:

Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Coriander and Basil Extracts.

My Experience with Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Resin Rum:

The lipstick case is a black and silver, striking for the price it comes at. The case is very sturdy and the cap closes on it with a distinct click. It will not open in the bag, hence, is travel friendly.

I’ve been confounded by how hard and dry this brand of lipsticks usually are, but I finally get to say this, all you beauties on a budget, This one’s not nearly as dry and hard as the other ones, at least the ones I’ve tried. When I say it isn’t dry, I don’t mean it is moisturizing, but if you wear a good lip balm, it will glide on easily on your lips. Also, this one’s a bit creamier than the others. One swipe is enough for the colour to show. So, formula wise, I think this one is pretty decent.

In the bullet, the colour appears to a very deep, rich maroon with a brownish tint. But on application the colour takes on a pinkish hue. This shade leans towards the sheerer side, but the pigmentation is pretty good. In fact it covered up my pigmented lips beautifully. If you like wearing pink lips to work, this shade is pretty work-appropriate. There are no shimmer or glitter particles. Thank God for that! The lip swatches do not exactly show the real color. It’s a tad darker than what the pictures show. This colour will fare well on fairer to medium complexioned women with cooler tones. I’m neutral, so it works fine for me. Darker women would want to steer clear of this shade, as it would probably wash them out.

The smell is the generic smell of lipsticks. The staying power is pretty decent. It stays on for about three hours, with no food and liquid intake, of course. The lipstick will transfer very easily. But that, I think, is to be expected of any lipstick under the 200 mark. If you are on a budget and if you find this color to your liking, do get this.

Will I Repurchase Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Resin Rum?

Maybe. Maybe not. But this certainly is one of the better ones of Coloressence brand.
