Etos Lip and Cheek Stain: Benefit Benetint Dupe

Etos Lip and Cheek Stain Benefit Benetint Dupe

I went crazy once I moved back to Europe looking for the brands I had missed for so long and was never available to buy in Bangalore. ย I am a huge fan of old school shopping and not online, because I do tend to order everything wrong every single time, so I got fed up with myself and just gave up on the will to live, actually to purchase anything online.

So, when I came to Holland and the first thing I went for was Sephora, MAC Pro Store, NARS and many others, just to end up not buying any of those things and at the end of the day started to miss brands like Faces Canada, that is actually available in India only, brands that are good value for money. Any product hype dies on me within a week, so I just got to pull through that phase, then I completely forget about it (even if I purchase the original thing I am looking for); that’s why I prefer dupes and less expensive stuff.

I had tried Benefit’s Tint at Sephora and after two hours of walking around with the bottle in my hand, I decided against paying the 40 Euros they were asking for it, so as high street always offer their dupes and brand loyalty isn’t much of my thing, I went on and bought the dupest dupe out there, Etos own brand ๐Ÿ˜€

Etos Lip stain

Etos is a drugstore and sells many brands including their own, which also happens to be the cheapest. I bought the lip and cheek stain and it is a fun product, if the original product is as much of a pain as this one is, I feel like I haven’t missed out purchasing the real thing.

I mostly bought it out of spite, but ended up being very happy with it. The quality isn’t the best as you can imagine, but its a fun thing to have. TBS makes way better dupes of higher brands I think, but Etos is a brand that teenagers spend their pocket money on, so it still should be decent.

Details

The instructions in Dutch tell you to apply directly with your finger, and warn you that this product is fast drying and long lasting. It says that it can be used with a lip gloss and to remove, just use a oil-based makeup remover.

It doesn’t look like it, but this thing stains forever and is hard to remove, so use a makeup remover, otherwise its lost labour.

This is a drop of the fluid. It is awfully fast drying, so take some few turns practicing before going out for real with it on.

Etos cheek stain

Same drop blended, as you can see, it was already drying and a single droplet already stains.

lip stain

I used it on my cheeks twice and then gave up on it, the reasons being, it is too dark for me at 3 swipes and also the smearing of the color on my cheeks just make me look redder than I already am, so while applying it, I don’t know where the blushing starts or ends. Also, it smells like rose water, very strong and I don’t like it very much. I found that wearing it on the lips for me is the best way and it is a bit drying if you don’t combine it with a balm.

  2. me too. I am a little sceptical of lip/cheek stains. the bit abt making the face even redder is especially scary. I think one needs to be a pro at this..

        1. Aruna, it got redder because i flush easily kinda rosacea types ๐Ÿ˜€ if you have a yellow undertone that isn’t going to happen, and in makeup and life you should try everything at least once ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. bought out of spite ? :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I think I should give lip/cheek stains a try now. :preen: All this long-wear hype is tempting.
I’ll jst try the lakme and bourjois ones first…then I will decide whether they are my thing or not. :dumb:

      1. Discontinued? Ye kab hua? :stars:
Oh well….Time for bourjois. :jog: thanks for telling me! :thanks: :teddy:

  6. ohh this is so good for 200 bucks….even i want to try one :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: ‘ll check out the lakme one in case it doesn’t work for me :dumb: :dumb: :dumb:

      1. ohh is it.My bad luck. bt the bourjois one is also for 800 bucks na…..experiment karne ke liye itta koun spend karega :nono: :nono: :nono: BTW how do u find them…easy to use ?:) ?:) may be i should chk thm out at the counter only na. :pigtail: :dumb: :dumb:

  7. OMG I loooove cheek stains.. my skin is super oily and neither powder nor cream blushes last on me and I swear by stains. I loved the lakme one but those stupid people discontinued it!! Why does lakme always discontinue stuff??? ?:) ?:) ?:)
And now I use bourjois lip stains as cheek tints and it works! Next I’m eyeing the body shop one..
Oh and I find if you rub the stain using a sponge instead of your finger it spreads evenly and doesnt leave “alta” mark on your finger too. :methinks: :methinks: :methinks:
