How to Do an Eye Spa at Home

Hello peeps,

Most of us struggle to remove dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles from the under eye area. We can conceal it with makeup but that is just a temporary solution. For a long term solution, you will have to give your eyes the TLC which it needs. Remember, if you are not healthy from within and not getting full sleep then no matter what you apply externally, you will not get results. You should drink a lot of water, eat a well-balanced diet which includes a lot of vegetables and fruits and take good 7-8 hours of sleep. If the above instructions are followed along with this regular eye spa, you will surely reduce yours under eye problems within a month. This eye spa should be done at night time for better results. Clean your hands thoroughly before doing this spa. Also, make sure that your eye area is cleaned properly before starting this procedure. For this eye spa, you will need an eye cleanser, eye scrub, eye massage oil/cream and eye pack.

Eye cleanser:

Take rose water and raw milk in a ratio of 1:1. Mix them well. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and wipe the eye area gently with this mixture. Leave it on for five minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. Rose water has excellent cleansing, toning and cooling properties whereas milk has lactic acid which acts as a very mild cleanser hence is good for cleaning the eye area.

Eye scrub:

A very gentle scrub should be used for the under eye area. Please do not use your regular face scrub for this as this area is very delicate. To make the eye scrub, mix 1 tbsp oats powder with 1 tbsp honey. Keep your eyes closed. Massage this scrub on your eyes in a circular motion with your ring finger. Massage it for five minutes and wash off with cold water. Oats contain saponins, which has a very mild cleansing action and it removes dead skin cells effectively. Oats make for a very mild scrub, so can be used for the eye area effectively. Honey acts as a humectant to moisturise the under eye area.

Eye massage oil/cream:

You can use an eye cream for the massage but I prefer oil as this is more natural. Use extra virgin olive oil or sweet almond oil for eye massage. Take 2-3 drops of oil on your ring finger and dot it under and over the eye contour area. Now start massaging in a circular motion with your ring finger. Do it in both directions, anticlockwise and clockwise motion, for 10 minutes each. Do this for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that you are very gentle while massaging and skin is not getting stretched.

Eye mask:

Add 1 tbsp besan with 1 tbsp coffee powder and a pinch of turmeric. Make a paste with rose water. This paste should not be very thin or runny. Apply a thick layer of this paste on your under eye area and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash off with cold water after that. Be very careful while removing the pack so that the skin under the eye area is not stretched. Both besan and turmeric have excellent skin lightening properties, so this mask is very effective at reducing dark circles. Coffee removes puffiness and also tightens the skin around the eyes.

After you are done with these steps, follow up with an under eye cream or oil to moisturise the skin.

Benefits:

This eye spa should be done once a week. If done regularly you will see the results within one month. This will reduce dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles from the under eye area. It removes dark circles and puffiness instantly to a certain extent. So you can do this procedure before going for a party or any function. Do not forget to apply an eye cream or oil at night on a daily basis to hydrate your eyes and enhance the effect of this eye spa.
