Milani Orange-Gina Color Statement Lipstick Review

Milani Color Statement lipstick range is a nice and affordable range of lipsticks which has been around for some time now. This range has more than 30 shades and quite a few shades have been already on IMBB (Rose Hip, Sangria, Rose Amour, Raspberry Rush, etc). Today, I am reviewing the shade “Orange-Gina.” Read on to find out more about this shade “Orange-Gina.”

My Experience with Milani Orange-Gina Color Statement Lipstick:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a beautiful gold packaging with a band at the bottom matching the color of the lipstick. The cap shuts tight and there is no danger of the cap coming off loose. Even though the packaging is quite simple, it looks classy and doesn’t feel flimsy at all.

Shade:  “Orange-gina” is a shade which is bound to evoke mixed reactions from people. It is a gorgeous burnt orange shade with a lot of visible shimmer. While some of you may like the metallic orange look, there would be others who would not like the shimmer particles. I myself have been unable to decide whether I like it or not. It does look quite glamorous, but I don’t like the fact that the shimmer particles are a tad too visible and have a tendency to migrate.

The pigmentation of the lipstick is quite strong; one swipe is enough to get a lovely opaque finish.

Texture/Finish/Pigmentation:  The lipsticks from this range are quite creamy, but “Orange-Gina” is an exception. It feels a bit dry and the lipstick does drag during application. The texture is not exactly smooth and I would attribute it to the presence of shimmer particles.  Once applied though, the lipstick feels comfortable and lightweight on the lips.

It is not moisturizing but it does not dry out the lips either. It does not settle into lip lines or highlight any dry patches.  The lipstick has a metallic satin finish.

The lipstick does transfer and the staying power is not all that great; the lipstick stays on me for around 4 hours depending upon what I am eating. Also, the shimmer particles have a tendency to migrate all around the mouth area.

Cons of Milani Orange-Gina Color Statement Lipstick:

• Shimmer particles do migrate.
• Lipstick transfers.
• Staying power is average.
• Slight tug during application.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Milani Orange-Gina Color Statement Lipstick?
If you like shimmery metallic lipsticks, you can try this one out.  I will not repurchase the exact same shade, but do possess other shades from this range.
