Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze -Overtime Wine

Hello, all you beautiful people,

I stole this lip-gloss from my mom’s room, because I wanted something dark, yet seductive to wear. Almost vampire-ish (Yes, I believe vampires have dark maroon-ish red lips.) And the color in this tube looked perfect. Boy, was I disappointed.

Product Description:

Revlon’s first longwearing lip gloss with a unique mineral complex that provides a glossy seal of conditioning color. Just one application of this cushiony formula keeps lips coated with comfortable color for up to 8 hours, with no need for touch-ups. Available in 12 gorgeous, glossy shades.

What I feel about Revlon  Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze – Overtime Wine

So, I’m not a person who wears such dark colors. And the color in the tube looked pretty intense. At least to me it did. So when I first applied this gloss, I just looked in the mirror and thought: “What. The. Heck.” That awful smell was the first thing that hit me. The gloss is pretty thick, and doesn’t apply evenly on the lips. I had to actually press the wand to spread the gloss across my lips. I felt like I was spreading gel on my lips.

The color in the tube didn’t even show up on my lips. It showed up almost 2-3 shades lighter than the actually color shown in the tube. My lips felt sticky and gooey. Applying lip balm before this might help a little with the stickiness and even application. You have to actually layer the gloss a lot of times, before you can get the color right, so its product wastage.

The gloss is very easily transferable, like no joke, anything that touched my lips even slightly got stained with red. I was afraid to even touch my face, worrying the gloss might get gloss all over my hands and face.

They claim that the lip gloss is long lasting, up to 8 hours. You should be lucky if this gloss lasts you an hour. I applied this gloss, fixed my hair, got in my car, and before I had even reached my designation the gloss had faded. I was left with nothing but a maroon-ish stain that said I had maroon lip gloss on.

No doubt the color looks good. It makes my lips look good and full, but it also makes my lips feel dry and sticky.

Price:

$8.99 , I think.

Color:

It looks like a deep, shiny maroon, but it’s actually murdered, dead for day’s kind of a red.

Pros of Revlon  Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze – Overtime Wine:

  • The black lid is pretty stylish.
  • The wand is pretty nice too; I can apply the gloss nicely.
  • I like the name, Colorstay Lipglaze, I like that.
  • Color is wearable if you like dark reds.

In the first image I have only swiped the gloss on 1-2. The second image I have layered it, swiping 4-5 times. The last image is of my lips 1 hour later.

Cons of Revlon  Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze – Overtime Wine:

  • Very sticky and gooey.
  • The clear plastic tube is boring.
  • Doesn’t last long; maybe an hour or two.
  • Easily transfer-able.
  • Might smear across your face.
  • Smells.
  • Dries up my lips.

IMBB Rating:

1.5/5 (only because I like that black lid and the name.)

Would I buy/recommend Revlon  Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze – Overtime Wine?

No. Even if it goes on sale, buy yourself a chocolate bar instead.
