My Experience with SK-II Facial Treatment Mask:

If you are not familiar with the company of SK-II, it is a beauty brand which was launched in 1980 in Japan. SK-II is often considered one of the most expensive beauty brands in the world.  This facial treatment masks is one the best sellers in the SK-II cosmetic line and courtesy of the incredibly gracious IMBB team, I am able to try this mask and bring you the full detailed review of this, so you can be the judge whether to invest in such a highly expensive beauty regimen.

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask 3

SK-II facial treatment is a 100% cotton mask. I have used many facial mask,  but usually the drugstore ones are paper masks.  This cotton mask is so soft and feels so luxurious on the skin. Due to the nature of cotton mask, it clings on the skin without slipping around. The mask is cut in all the right places and the holes are of perfect size to ft around the nose, eyes and mouth. It is also a little larger in size and also covers some area under the chin.

The mask is completely drenched and saturated with the precious Pitera extract. If you do not know about this highly prized extract, here is some info on it.  Pitera is derived from yeast that is created during the fermentation process of sake. It was first discovered after researchers noticed that Japanese Sake producers’ hands are abnormally soft. It refines texture and evens out skin tone for a brighter-looking complexion.

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask 5

The extract is of very thick, gel-like consistency and the mask is completely soaked in it. Since it is not thin or watery, it does not drip down. The mask feels very cool when applied. It is suggested that the mask be kept on for 5-10 minutes, but I kept it on for about 30 minutes to get even better results. Also, I was expecting the mask to dry out as the skin absorbs the extracts, but to my surprise, even after 30 minutes, the mask remained about 15-20% wet. Since the mask is so drenched with the extracts, there is only so much the skin can soak up.

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask 6

The SK II have not at all been stingy with the amount of product they have put in each foil packet. There is also so much extract left in the pouch. So in order to save or use it up, you can either cut open the pack and use a paper towel to soak up the contents and use it as a neck mask since the neck just like the face needs some TLC or you could also store it in a little airtight container and use it as a serum for the next few days. The serum also has a very pleasant and mild floral scent.

In order to try this mask out, I skipped moisturizer in my night-time skin care routine for a few days. Therefore my skin was incredibly dry and I had a lot of dry spots. Since this mask claimed to be extremely hydrating, I was expecting it to fix all my dry skin issue in a single use.

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask 8

Once the mask is removed, the immediate effect that I noticed was that the skin felt so much more tighter and toned, and also my pores looked shrunk and overall the skin had a very smooth and soft feel. I was kind of disappointed that my dry patches around my nose and mouth were still there, but they did look less worse than before the application. I did not notice much radiance and brightness on my face immediately.

The face really started to show results over the next few days. Skin did seem radiant and smooth and the result lasted for about 2 weeks and meanwhile, I was also using the serum I had saved up from the foil packet.

Overall, I do think this facial treatment mask does work as they claim and I would think this will be a really good investment if you are willing to splurge that much. Since the effects are long lasting, you can use this facial treatment mask as once-in-a-month luxurious pampering session for your skin. I would highly suggest it to be used if you have a special occasion or your own wedding coming up. Using this once a week for 6-10 weeks before your wedding will give you a miraculously amazing skin and radiant bridal glow.

Pros of SK-II Facial Treatment Mask:

  • There’s a lot of product in one packet which can be saved up or used as a neck treatment.
  • 100% cotton mask, feels so soft and luxurious.
  • Skin feels softer and more radiant.
  • Skin feels tighter and toned.
  • Long-lasting results.
  • Pleasant floral scent.
  • Did not irritate or make my skin break out.

Cons of SK-II Facial Treatment Mask:

  • Very expensive but totally worth it if you have a special occasion coming up.
  • Did not fix my dry skin immediately.

It is expensive thats for sure but if u look at it this way .. Each sheet costs $15 with which u can give urself a complete home facial treatment .. A normal facial in a salon usually costs $30 – $50 .. So I beleive the price is justified..
