Ask IMBB Gang

Hina Mustafa asks:

Hi Everyone,

I am using Nivea Visage Refreshing Toner after cleaning my face with noxzema face wash.  I have combination skin.  My skin looks so fresh after using the toner and seems like it does not need any further moisturizer, but the problem is that after using the toner, I usually apply L’Oreal Hydra Fresh for normal to dry skin, which made my skin patchy and made my skin oily as well.  Kindly tell me should I continue using Hydra Fresh or not? Kindly recommend me some good oil free moisturiser.

Your help is awaited!

Thanks a bunch!

I too have combination kinda skin.
Have started using Neutrogena Oil free facial moisture with spf 15 on IMBB recommendation.
Its been more than a month and I am quite liking it..

since your skin is combination, you should be using moisturizer for combi skin, try vichy’s normaderm range moisturizer, i use it and works amazingly well for me, have finished more than 3 tubes :) or else even clinique’s moizturizer is good for combination..i am planning to give that a try next :) i believe its called dramatically different moisturizer or something like that..hope this helps

If you are looking for an awesome moisturizer, try Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. Totally worth the money you put in :)

I like Clinique but am using the cream form currently and its working well. Additionally I would also recommend the Olay 7-n-1 total effects misturizer. It was my HG moisturizer for the longest time till I discovered more expesnive products to do the same job :)

Try The Body Shop seeweed moisturizer.. I have combination skin too and know what exactly you mean when u say that you don’t feel the need for anything else after toner. This one works just right for my combination, acne prone sensitive skin..

Try the neutrogena moisturizers. There are 2 variants: one is for oily skin and one is for combi skin.. You can decide whichever u want. Hope this helps :D

things that worked for me.. same as you skin type Combination/Oily

Slight moisturizer – Vichy Normaderm (same as parita said) and Neutrogena Oil free ( both are good for summers)

Little heavy Moisturizer for Cheek area or skin is damaged or dry patches – Olay Moisturizing Lotion (good for winters)

two things that have worked for me:

Lactocalamine for oily to normal skin (in the affordable range)
Clinique anti blemish solutions moisturizer (in the oh-so-heavy-on-pocket-but-worth-it range)

i have combination oily skin highly prone to acne

I have very oily and acne prone skin – the thing that worked like a charm on my skin was the Cl*nique Dramatically Moisturizing Gel – its absolutely oil free and keeps the skin oil free for the longest time. Have been using it for years now.
