1. Use Retinoid or Retinol
Incorporate products in your skin care regimen that has retinoid or retinol in them. These are good for maintaining your skin tone, texture and they have ample of anti-aging benefits too.
2. Wash Your Face at Night
It doesn’t matter whether you went outside or not, always wash your face before sleeping. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturize your skin and don’t forget to use a night cream too.
3. Use a Gentle Facial Cleanser
No matter what your skin type is, try to use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip your skin off natural oils. If you get breakouts often then incorporate a cleanser that has salicylic acid as an ingredient.
4. Use Alpha Hydroxy Acid
Alpha hydroxy acid helps eliminate the build-up of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It also improves the skin tone and gives the skin a smooth texture. It is safe to use products containing alpha hydroxy acid at least 2-3 times a week.
5. Let Your Blemishes Be
Don’t zap or prick them! Let your acne, pimples or acne be. Give them some time to heal. You can use spot treatments but don’t touch them directly with your fingers as it can lead to spreading of bacteria and permanent scarring.
6. Always Use SPF 30+
It doesn’t matter if you live in hot or cold zone, always wear sun protection with an SPF of 30+. It may be windy outside or extremely cold, you still gotta wear that sunscreen.
7. Add in Antioxidants
Add antioxidants to prevent UV-induced free radical damage and brighten the skin. You can also incorporate various berries in your food items as they have maximum anti-oxidant content. You can also do various DIY face masks with berries.
8. Pamper Delicate Areas
We take too much care for our face that we often neglect the neck and décolletage area which are often the first places to show signs of aging. So make sure to always apply your skin care products not just on face but also to these areas as well.
9. Less is More
If you take good care of your skin then you won’t need layers of makeup. Makeup can clog our pores so less is more when it comes to makeup. If you wear heavy makeup on daily basis then try to go sans makeup at least once or twice a week to let your skin breathe.
10. Hydration is the Key
It goes without saying, skin care starts from within! Never skip drinking your water and drink as much water as you can. It will definitely bring that healthy glow from within.
11. Get a Facial Every Month
Getting a facial done every month or so will help to unclog the pores and give your skin a healthy, supple and luminous look. If you don’t want to go outside then you can try various homemade facial recipes which are just as effective.
12. Squeeze in face masks
Most of us underestimate the power of a good facial mask. Try different facial masks and notice which one suits you the best. Using a good face mask every week will give your skin a healthy glow and will also help to eliminate minor issues regarding skin.
