So NYX released a new range of liquid lipsticks in nude-ish shades last year, known as the NYX Lip Lingerie range. This collection has a variety of browns, greys and pinks and I absolutely love this range! I purchased the shades Exotic and Ruffle Trim during my trip to the UK as they were not available in India at the time.

My Experience with NYX Ruffle Trim Lip Lingerie:
Since I loved the ‘Soft Matte Lip Cream‘ range so much from NYX I decided to give even the ‘Lip Lingerie’ range a try. My love for long-lasting nude lipsticks is also the reason I was so attracted to the product. Firstly, I’d like to say that the range doesn’t have a lot of flattering shades for the Indian skin tones.
Especially the pink colours could easily wash out our skin. The website describes Ruffle Trim as a cinnamon pink colour. It is a light pink colour mixed with warm beige. The colour is quite similar to the shade of the tube.
The Lip Lingerie collection has a much larger tube. The bottom half is clear hard plastic that shows the colour inside. The top half is a black cap, also covered in hard plastic. The applicator wand is flat but surprisingly holds a lot of product. I tend to take off some of the product before application as it turns out too much for my liking.
This liquid lipstick is a bit more liquidy than the soft matte range by NYX but it provides even coverage when applied. It’s also slightly sticky but that feeling goes away once the product is completely dry. This range dries to a completely matte finish.
As far as pigmentation goes, this product is extremely pigmented. It covers all pigmentation and has a completely opaque swipe of colour. It does not require any lip liner but I would suggest a lip balm under this as the product can be quite drying. I would not recommend this product for people who have dry lips.
The colour that shows up on the lips is quite similar to that in the tube. That’s how opaque the lipstick is! On me, it looks like a pale pink that’s almost too light. I would not dare to wear a colour lighter than this as it would show up too pale.
It looks like a nude colour on me. It’s just the right amount of light pink and does not wash me out. It can be a flattering colour for lighter skin tones especially. The product can be quite drying, however, it doesn’t feather or flake on the lips even after meals. The staying power is around 6-7 hours, which I consider pretty great. The product stays put even after meals; fades slightly after heavy meals, though.
The lipstick fades after 7 hours pretty evenly but sometimes it leaves a slight product residue, which I find extremely unsettling. The lipstick also cannot be touched up as layering the product would definitely cause it to cake up and then it’d feel uncomfortable on the lips. So, a touch-up is completely out of question.

Summary: All in all I do love the colour but I find myself reaching for it rarely due to the drying factor and the fact that it accentuates the fine lines.
