Boots 17 Solo Eye Shadow – Statuesque Review

Hello Everyone,

First of all, hope you all had a great time on Rakshabandhan!  Unfortunately, I had to go to work on that day, but in any case, my brothers do not live in Delhi, so I would not have done anything special at home.

I am going to do a quick review on the 17 Solo Eyeshadow in the shade “Statuesque” that I picked up from Boots in London. I did some massive shopping from London a couple of months back when I was there, so I will be reviewing a lot of products from that haul in the coming weeks.

Boots 17 Solo Eye Shadow Statuesque Review

Price:

3 or 4 GBP.

Packaging:

This comes in a no-fuss black cute tub with a plastic lid. The tub is a little bigger than a standard Rs. 2 coin. I couldn’t find the quantity anywhere on the tub. So, you can check the size yourself here:

Shade:

The shade is called “Statuesque,” well these inexpensive babies also have names, Inglot are you listening???????  This is a shimmery champagne color that would look fabulous for day wear, especially for wheatish skin tones. It adds a beautiful pinkish champagne-colored shimmer to your lids that makes your eyes look awake and fresh instantly.  Although, I am slightly darker than wheatish, I put it as an overall lid color and use MAC’s Folie as a crease color. It just makes my eyes look awake and bright. Its also very good as an inner corner color.

Shimmer

There are some 15-16 colors available in the Solo Eyeshadow range and then there is a range for 17 Glitter Eyeshadows as well. I picked up 4-5 shades from the Solo range, yayieeeeee 😛

Here are some swatches:

Texture:

I love the texture of these shadows for the price they come at! It’s creamy, smooth, and buttery and super-duper easy to apply nicely and evenly. It blends like a dream and the shimmers are not chunky or over the top at all.  There is a little amount of fall-out but nothing major.

Staying Power:

The staying power is pretty decent when used with a good primer like UDPP, it stays on my oily lids for 7-8 hours easily without budging. I wore it once without a primer and it stayed only 3-4 hours and then started fading. So, in case you buy them, please remember to use a good primer.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5.  Taking away 0.5 because of the staying power when used without a primer.

Overall Verdict:

Overall, I think these are really good with an amazing shade selection in matte and shimmery neutrals and bold colors. I love how they blend and look on the eyes and I love their price even more! I am definitely going to pick up a lot more shades in this range when I visit London next. Highly recommended if you have a Boots in your country!  The best part is they are completely fragrance-free which I love about makeup!
