Boots 17 Nail Xtras Crackle Top Coat Review
Today, I am going to write about my first ever crackle nail paint that I got from Boots London (through a friend 😛 ). How is it possible that someone has shopped from London or US, and hasn’t ordered a crackle nail polish, a unique and beautiful makeup accessory that is so commonly available abroad at such reasonable rates. In India, Colorbar has launched its first ever black crackle nail paint as we have all read on IMBB and its 300 INR 😐
According to the Website:
17 Nail Xtras Crackle Top Coat gives you this seasons shattered nail art look. A great crackled finish nail effect.
How To Use:
Step 1- Paint nails with a coloured nail varnish.
Step 2 – Apply a thin layer of 17 Nail Xtras Crackle Top Coat over the top of your colour, and wait for the magic to happen as the polish cracks before your eyes!
Step 3 – Finish with a coating of the clear 17 Nail Xtras Double Gloss Top Coat for ultimate staying power.
Result? Fierce and fabulous shattered effect nails!
3.99£ for 10 ml.
My View on the Boots 17 Nail Xtras Crackle Top Coat:
I would define it as a super quick and easy way of making a brilliant nail art which a novice can also get with minimum effort and time.
Shade: A light golden sort of a shade that mostly looks attractive on dark but bright shades like reds and maroons and fuchsia pinks. Well, that is my personal preference as I applied it on top of my black nail paint too, but the crackle effect came more noticeable on bright shades.
Texture: The texture is thick and gives a glossy finish even with a thin single coat of application. It dries off within 30-40 seconds of applying into a lovely crackle outcome.
Staying Power: As a top coat, it stays on for 5 days after which it starts fading from the tips. It has not chipped at all and I don’t use any clear top coat on it, which may increase its staying power to 7-8 days easily.
Tips For Application:
I have applied it 5-6 times till now and know now that if one wants to achieve a great shattering effect, then just apply this as a thin layer of top coat on your favourite nail paint. Make sure your base nail paint is totally dry and lastly, avoid layering up of this nail paint while applying. A single hand of brush gives out brilliant crackle effect while if one layers the top coat, then the effect is not so clean.
Summarising, it is a brilliant crackle top coat and I did not find any flaw in it except again, its availability.
On top of fuchsia nail paint.
On top of ash black nail paint.
Please don’t mind this messy red nail polish application. It was Diwali and I was in a hurry. 😛
Rest, my snaps speak for themselves.
Do I Recommend:
Yes, of course.
P.S: How did you find my owl neck piece in the first snap :yahoo:
