A few days ago during my vacation to Dublin I picked up a lipstick from Bourjois. I had always seen them in Boots at London, but never picked it. I was so fascinated by the shade and I just had to buy it. Today’s review is about Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick in the shade “05 Brique A Brac”.

My Experience with Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick 05 Brique A Brac:

The product comes in a twist tube. The colour of the outer packaging is that of the shade. The whole packaging is plastic and hence it doesn’t look very classy. I would have preferred a black or darker outer packaging with just the name of the shade. But, having the colour as the packaging has its own advantages. When one has more shades of the same range, you can just pick the right color just looking at it and there is no need to read the name of it.

The cap of the lid is very tight. There is no chance of accidental opening of it. The cap is so tight that I find it little hard to open it. I hope it gets a little smooth over time. The shade name is written at the base of the lipstick. The cap has a round bottom and a square top. There are some words written on the packaging too.

The lipstick bullet is tear shaped which makes it perfect for application. Especially the edges of the lips can be reached easily. I find the shape quite interesting and also useful.

The color is a mix of orange and pink. Bright orange looks not so pleasant on my dusky skin tone, but this shade is just to the point. As the name suggests, its a brick orange color. One can wear this shade to work too as it is not over the top.

The texture of the lipstick is very creamy and glides smoothly over the lips. The application is really easy. The shade is a perfect brick color. I find this a very lovely shade. I had this shade in Revlon a few years back and was always looking for that shade. I could not find it. This is very close to that shade and was totally happy to find it.

I have a dusky skin tone and I am sure that it will suit people who has my skin tone very well. I am sure it looks nice on all skin tones too. The shade has absolutely no shimmer which is a must for me to buy lipsticks. Also, when the lipstick is blotted with a tissue after application, it does last 7 hours or so. It will also survive meals unless and until you are eating something very oily.

Overall, I loved every thing about this lipstick. I wanted to buy more shades from the same range.
