My Experience with ELF Daily Moisture Stick:
Let me start by explaining my skin type. I have very dry skin which is very prone to flaking and gets patchy, particularly around my mouth. Therefore sometimes, I have a really hard time when I apply my foundation as it does not go on smoothly and tends to cling to these dry areas and accentuate them. Hence anything labeled as “hydrating” or “moisturizing” makes me want to grab it immediately. I am really happy I purchased this product.
The packaging is so sleek and compact. I love the matte black twist up tube. It is very smooth to touch and does not feel cheap at all. The cap attaches very securely.
Texture/Finish on skin:
The product itself is a clear hardened gel. The application is very easy. You can either smear it directly on the face or you can swirl your finger over the product and dab it directly on to the patchy areas. The product goes on very smooth on the skin. There is no tugging or dragging of the gel to get the product to transfer on the skin. The product does not come out a lot at a time hence it is very easy to control how much you want to put on.
The product gets absorbed into the skin almost instantly and does not leave any slippery/greasy feel on the skin, but it does hydrate the skin noticeably, therefore I do feel this product will suit even oily skin. The dry patches are rendered invisible. There is a slight cooling sensation when this is first applied which goes away within seconds. Not a very prominent feature but worth mentioning since it does refresh skin a bit.
It does has a very faint chemical-y minty scent which I do not particularly enjoy but the scent does not linger hence this is not such a big issue.
I use this product in numerous ways, some of which I will list below. This product truly fits the definition of “multi tasker.” I use it as a base under my makeup instead of my regular moisturizer. It does smooth out my skin. Take note, this will not replace your primer, it does not increase longevity of the wear of the makeup. I use this to refresh my makeup throughout the day if my dry patches are starting to get really noticeable. This product works wonders if your makeup tends to settle in fine lines and accentuate them, particularly under and around the eyes. I just swirl my finger on the product and lightly dab my under eye which immediately refreshes my concealer under it and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
I even use this in place of hand cream in emergency and also can be used on the those extra parched elbows and knees. These are just some ideas. You can use this product as per your needs or even invent some new ways to use this. The amount of product provided for the price is very good which makes this product very affordable yet does not compromise on quality.
Pros of ELF Daily Moisture Stick:
- Very affordable.
- Quantity provided is huge.
- Multitasking product.
- Refreshes makeup and reduces appearance of fine lines.
- Can be used as all over face moisturizer under makeup.
- Can be used by all skin types, but will particularly benefit dry and combination skin.
- Lots of beneficial ingredient like Shea, Grape, Cocoa, Avocado, Aloe, Macadamia and Chamomile.
Cons of ELF Daily Moisture Stick:
- Not available in India.
- Contains loads of parabens – I can see four types in the ingredient list itself. Though they are as a last ingredient on the list which means they are very less in quantity, they are still there which some people may have an issue with.
