I have slightly plump lips that have are particularly dry, due to which I need to keep them moisturized all the time, but because of this constant use of chapstick, most lip colours don’t last too long on my lips. The easiest way to increase the longevity of a lip colour is by applying it with a lip brush which also helps in precise application. The brush I am now going to review is the brush I bought in place of a regular lip brush thinking that it would serve my purpose. So, without further ado, chop chop!
This new anti-bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this e.l.f. studio brush! Creates thin lines and precise coverage. Applies color evenly for small targeted areas. Use to apply concealer, smooth on lip color, or line eyes. Dip brush into product and apply to desired location, then blend in using soft strokes.
The brush comes in a plastic pouch that has a tucked in flap. This pouch helps keep the brush bristles in place while travelling, making a separate brush holder redundant. This travel proofs the brush brilliantly well. All information regarding this brush is printed on a silver sheet and tucked into the pouch. Despite being incredibly informative, one can remove it to reduce the space taken up by the packaging.
My Take on ELF Studio Small Precision Brush:
I purchased this brush thinking it should work as a lip brush, because when I bought this, there was no specific lip brush in the ELF store. Boy! This brush is absolutely amazing, it is incredibly versatile and can be used for a multitude of purposes. I first used this as a lip brush for my everyday lip colour needs, but when I went for a vacation and left behind my angled eyeliner brush, I sanitized this brush and used it for applying my gel liner. While doing this, I also used it as an applicator for applying highlighter on tear duct area, something that is a little hard because I have huge eyes. I also use this to smudge my kajal and to also line my outer lower eyes. My mom has also used this brush to pat on her concealer because she suffers from the inability to apply something, she has to massage it in. *rolls eyes*
My cousin has also used this brush to make perfect French Manicure tips and help clean up the nail polish off her cuticles after a good nail art. Don’t feel so horrified she bought another brush, not the same brush just the same type! :p
I have washed this brush about 10-15 times and it hasn’t shed a single hair and kept its shape decently well. It has a very low dry time and can be washed after every use without any fear of not having it readily available for the next use. If anything, the only flaw in this product is that the brush name is only printed and not engraved on it, but this can be easily remedied with a quick coat of transparent nail paint.
Pros of ELF Studio Small Precision Brush:

- Doesn’t shed at all.
- Soft Taklon bristles.
- Matte black brush handle.
- Brush doesn’t absorb a lot of excess product.
- Thoughtful bristle protector.
- Low drying time.
- Vegan friendly.
Cons of ELF Studio Small Precision Brush:
- Writing on the brush isn’t engraved and can fade.
- Not available in India.
