Lakme Absolute Precision Lip Brush
Like I mentioned in my lakme absolute eye shader brush review, I will be reviewing all the new brushes from this range. My general opinion about these new launches are good quality but little pricey for an introductory price. The new launch includes:
- Eye shader
- Lip brush
- Powder brush
- Foundation brush
- Compact puff
I haven’t picked up the compact puff because I think I have enough puffs that come along with the compact and secondly my super nice East Indian girl at lakme was nice enough to say it wont be as useful perhaps as the other brushes I have, by the way this SA at shopper’s stop is so helpful with good products, new shades and new releases . 🙂
First impression about this brush is the super classy packaging, I love the matte black metal packing shaped in the shape of a pencil. The tip is almost like a bullet and the packing is a toal turn on. Coming to the real product inside, the lip brush again is in matte black metal and plastic and very good quality too.
The bristle are semi soft, I mean unlike those tough ones we get in some lip brushes that scrape off a lot of lipstick, or drink the lipstick up and hardly any amount comes on to the lips. You end up using more lipstick than you would . The bristles are soft, don’t hurt the lips and do a very good job at applying the lipstick, using the lipstick as a stain and even layering on some dense color on the lips. The bristle feel just right, neither too soft nor too hard.
Sometimes the issue with lip brushes I face is that the lipstick gets to the bottom of the bristles. I have this issue with this brush . but since the bristles are soft I like to pick up less color at one go and go dip the brush onto the lipstick several times until I am happy with the color on the lips.
Why I like to use lip brushes some times is to layer out the lipstick evenly, lighten a deeper shade because the color comes out much lighter when applied with the brush. Most importantly , as the name suggests, for precise application.
The brush is rightly named as precision lip brush because the whole purpose of a lip brush is to apply lipstick neatly with outlines and avoid bleeding lipstick. This brush has the right pointed tip for the purpose.
Honestly the shape of the bristles is like any other lip brush you would have tried. It’s the brand and the packaging and the good bristles that make the difference and hence it is priced at 350. but then this one is for keeps and so easy to carry around since it comes with a cover and is very sturdy. 🙂
This brush has a nice matte black packaging, the bristles are just perfect in terms of softness, and the tip is precise and pointed like any other lip brush. The brush is sturdy and a delight to carry around. The only issue is they could have priced it a little lesser than 350 at least as an introductory price.
