Lately, there are so many brands that are launching empty palettes with matching pans to create your own customized palettes. Most of those brands are either high-end or only available online, I haven’t seen this concept at the drugstore before. But, Essence Cosmetics have decided to change this, and now, they have released their own empty palettes which you can fill with eyeshadows, lip and face powders. This line is called as My Must Haves. I picked up three single eyeshadows from this line. The shade which I am going to review today is called “04 Brownie’licious.”

My Experience with Essence My Must Haves Eyeshadow 04 Brownie’licious:

My Must Haves line currently has two empty palettes, a 4-pan and an 8-pan. My Must Haves Palettes, which we can customize ourselves. We can choose from 20 eyeshadows, 5 blushes, 3 lip powders, a pink lip base, a highlighter, a bronzer and a fixing powder. The selection of colours and finishes is amazing, I initially chose only 3 eyeshadow pans. I didn’t pick any palette as I want to test these first before investing further. We can store these pans individually as they come with a lid.

The single pans come in small, cute cardboard sleeves and the actual pan has a transparent lid, which you have to remove before fixing these pans into your empty palette. The details of the shade are given at the back of the pan as well as the cardboard sleeve. The palettes aren’t magnetic, you just have to click the pans in and you’re good to go. When I saw the palettes in the store, they looked very basic and simple. There are little inserts in the palette which makes it super easy to pop the pans out, whenever needed.

The shade “04 Brownie’licous” is a warm, deep grey-brown colour with a satin matte finish. It is that one neutral colour, which we all need to have in our vanity box. I could apply the eyeshadow very easily. It wasn’t too powdery and has an amazing colour payoff. The eyeshadow was very creamy and blended well, and surprisingly, there were almost no powder fallouts.

Back Essence My Must Haves Eyeshadow Brownielicious Review

When used over an eyeshadow primer, the lasting power of the eyeshadows increases and they stay in place all day long. I have also tried without a primer and it stayed pretty good for around 6 hours. The size of the pans is comparable to Makeup Geek eyeshadow pans. It’s a great size for eyeshadows, but it may feel a bit small when we also add the face products to the palette. These pans are small and if you’re using big-sized face brush, then your brush won’t fit in there.

This shade is a stunning colour, has an amazing pigmentation and staying power. So, overall, I am really impressed with these eyeshadows and the cool concept of an affordable customizable palette. I will surely pick up the palette and also other face products from this line.
