My Experience with Essence SOS Nail Detox Regenerating Base Coat:

One of the reasons I wanted to buy this base coat was the fact that it claimed that it is regenerating. I have peeling nails and wanted something to get rid of them. And when I spotted this, I knew I had to buy it. The base coat looks like a nail polish. It comes in a blue bottle with a white cap. The base coat is semi-thick and white in colour. It has a consistency of a nail polish. The brush applicator eases the application. The density of the bristles is fine and easy to apply. The base coat is gel-like.

The smell is pungent and smells like acrylic paint. When applied, it is completely white in colour. It is not clear when applied but, after it dries, the basecoat completely becomes transparent. The base coat also smoothens out the nails, thus you can easily apply any nail polish on top. The base coat contains vitamins and helps in maintaining the nails without harming them. The base coat helps in keeping the nail polish intact too. The nail polish goes on for around 5 days without any chipping or peeling. Removing the nail polish is also easy. The nail polish doesn’t harm the nails.

The nails look moisturized and exactly the way they were when I manicured. The base coat also keeps the nail paint from staining. The base coat along with other nail care products has made a significant change to my nails. My nails do not peel as much as it used to. I do not understand the concept of ‘SOS’ in the name as there are no immediate results except that it smoothes the nail, which helps easy and smooth application of the nail polish. Overall, the base coat does what it promises.
