My Experience with The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask:
I have used almost all sheet masks from The Face Shop when they got launched. Some were wonderful, and some were quite the opposite. This product is mainly meant for sensitive skin, and the brand proclaims it in their vast description.
Coming to the packaging of the product, the sheet mask comes in a regular packaging, but the packaging is a bit different from the routine ones in the sense that it is a plain one, and the brand’s aim seems to be to give out a medicated aura. It does give that a bit in white and blue.
The sheet mask itself is adhered to another sheet, which is in a “wire-y” texture. When I tried to open the folded mask, I was not able to. The essence from the mask was thicker than the usual, and the whole package was a bit heavy.
Though it looked heavy, I did end up tearing a bit of the sheet mask. The mask is not exactly gauze material as the name suggests. Another marketing effort! The mask is a mix of gauze and cotton. The fitting is better than their basic range sheet masks. It sat well on the skin. I did not feel the need to sit down to prevent it from falling down or slip down.
The essence was transparent and thick, but not oily. The smell was a medicated perfume-like smell. If you have used any of their sheet masks before, you would have known the trademark perfume of this brand. Imagine the same perfume being medicated, and this is what you would be inhaling! If you can’t stand any kind of perfume or smell in your skincare products, then you must stay away from this!
I left the mask on my face for 20 minutes. The mask was still wet. I then patted the remaining essence on to my face. The essence was very slow to absorb into the skin. It took a long time and a lot of patting. But, even then the face was not essence free. It was still sticky to touch. I patted and massaged a bit more, then it was better.
When I used this sheet mask, I had few red rashes over my face. The mask cleared a bit of redness around that area, and they were not painful as before. It reduced a bit of itchiness in the skin that you feel when your skin is very dry! It was hydrating and soothing as well.
I have used this mask twice now and the second time, it fared better in terms of the handling of the mask. The effect was same.

- It was helpful in calming down the redness on my face.
- It was very hydrating.
- Would suit sensitive skin also.
- Free of parabens.
- Easy to use.
Cons of The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Soothing Gauze Sheet Mask:
- My skin felt a bit sticky after using this mask. I didn’t feel the need to wash it off since I used it during the night, and followed it up with my routine.
- Price of the sheet mask.
