My Experience with Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick Single:

The lipstick comes in the signature Fenty Beauty packaging. The outer cardboard packaging is made up of strong cardboard. The entire product-related information is printed on the outer box. The lipstick tube is a beautiful rose gold in color. The mirror finish of the lipstick tube looks very pretty, but it catches my fingerprints easily. The brand name is embossed on the side of the lipstick tube. The packaging is not color coded. There is a small color-coded sticker at the base of the lipstick tube indicating the shade name.

The fonts on the sticker are very small and not really readable. Hence, I prefer storing in their boxes since the colored sticker on the box is easy to spot. The cap shuts very securely making the tube purse friendly. The lipstick bullet is slender and has the brand’s logo engraved on the top. The slanted tip helps to give precise application and sharper lip lines without any effort. Though the packaging looks nice but has a typical plastic feel to it. Overall, the packaging of the lipstick is decent and travel friendly.

“Single” is a beautiful peachy n*de shade with warm undertones. You may observe in the hand swatch below that this shade is very close to Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Peachy.

This is a beautiful everyday shade, which is flattering for fair skin tones. It looks so beautiful on the lips and suits my complexion well. It does not wash me out, does not look ashy either. It looks lovely when paired with soft smoky eyes or even with a heavy smoky eye look. It is subtle and can be pulled off easily without thinking twice.

Pigmentation wise, the lipstick is amazing. It deposits opaque color in a single swipe. I just apply a second coat to even out the edges. It is capable of hiding pigmentation of the lips easily. The color payoff is great. Most of the pale lipstick shades goes streaky but this is not a problem with this lip color since it applies evenly on the lips. There is no significant sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. It applies to a soft satiny finish and sets to a semi-matte finish after a few seconds of application. The formula is not ultra-matte or powdery matte, but I still love how it looks on my lips. The soft sheen helps to add dimension to the lipstick. There is no fragrance in this lipstick, which is a good for people with sensitive noses.

The texture of the lipstick is incredible. It goes on effortlessly on the lips without any dragging, but due to the matte formulation, it easily clings to dry patches of the lips. Hence, prepping the lips well is advisable for smoother and healthier looking lips. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and looks even on the lips. The lipstick is smudge proof and does not budge at all. It has a tendency to transfer a little but it does not transfer too much.

The lipstick is comfortable to wear but I would not say it is too lightweight. I can feel the presence of the lip color on my lips, but it does not bother me much. It does not have a thick or waxy kind of feel. The lipstick formula is neither drying nor hydrating. The formula is comfortable to wear but if you have extremely dry lips, it is advised to apply a lip balm properly to prevent your lips from drying. It provides a little moisturization to my lips and they do not feel dry even after a long period of time.

The lasting power is incredible. It lasts on my lips for around 6-7 hours with a little fading after a heavy meal. There color washes off from the center of the lips, so it requires some touch-up after a meal. It is very easy to remove with a good makeup remover. It just wipes off easily without leaving any stain behind.
