How To Make Glitter Nail Polish: Do It Yourself

Hello Gals,

Today, I have a “Do It Yourself” post for you all and it is super easy and very glamorous. I will be showing you steps for achieving your very own Glitter Nail Polish. You can choose any color combinations of glitters, add as many numbers of glitters and types as you want.

You will need:

1. Clear Nail Polish – I am using the Lakme Clear Glass No. 012.
2. Glitter powder – I am using golden and red colors. I got the glitters from a stationery shop and each packet costed me only Rs. 5 each.
3. Eyeshadow Dust/Sparkle (Optional) – I like the duo chrome effect the white sparkle gives to the nails. I am using Faces Sparkle Dust.
4. Handmade paper cone.
5. A small spoon and a dish.

Procedure:

• • Empty about 1/4 part of clear nail polish to make room for glitters that we will be adding later on.
  • Mix about 1/8th tablespoon of all the glitters and sparkles together in a dish.

• • Place the paper cone over the mouth of the bottle. A funnel cone will be easy to pour the glitter inside the bottle and will be less messy than pouring it directly. Start by using less quantity of glitter and then you can add more if you like.

• Pour the glitter mix into the bottle via the paper cone and close the lid of the bottle and shake it really well. You will have to shake the bottle whenever you use this Glitter Nail Polish as the glitter settles at the base. If you could find little magnetic balls in a hardware store, then drop 4-5 balls in the bottle, this will prevent the glitter from settling at the base

There you have your customized glitter nail polish ready.  Use it directly on nails or add as a top coat on other nail polishes as you like it. You can also add glitter to your old colored polishes which you don’t use anymore and get a new customized nail polish! Easy, Right?!
