My Experience with Kat Von D Chula Studded Kiss Lipstick:
The packaging of Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks is just amazing. It’s feminine and it’s chic at the same time. It seems like studs are embossed all over the tube. I like how her makeup line represents her strong personality.
The only thing I hate about the packaging is that the lipstick’s cap tends to open very easily and doesn’t feel secure enough. The KVD logo is engraved at the top of the cap and on the bullet too. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube.
Chula is a burnt orange with reddish brown undertones. This is a perfect fall shade and will flatter a variety of skin tones. You can pair this shade with neutral as well as smokey eyes. I don’t have anything similar to this in my collection. You can even wear this shade to your office. It doesn’t apply patchy on the lips and sits comfortably on the lips.
The lipstick has a rich soft texture and is very pigmented. The finish and texture of this lipstick reminds me a lot of Urban Decay Vice Mega Matte Lipstick range. It does tug a little on the lips but the pigmentation is amazing. I would say this lipstick has a velvety finish.
It has a strong vanilla scent which fades after the application. This lipstick feels very lightweight on the lips. I won’t suggest this lipstick if you have very dry lips, because the formulation is a little bit on the drying side. Yet, on my lips, it feels very comfortable. Also, you do not have to prep your lips beforehand.
The staying power is pretty good and the color fades evenly. On me, this shade lasts for around 7 hours without any touchups. It does fade a little after a meal, though.
