My Experience with Kat Von D Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick Cathedral:

The packaging of the lipstick is nice. The lipstick tube comes housed in a black colored cardboard box. The box bears some necessary product related information. The lipstick tube looks really pretty. I love the textures engraved on the lipstick tube. The tube looks really beautiful and the glossy finish adds dimension to the packaging. The tube bears a color-coded sticker at the bottom bearing the shade name along with some other details. The tube closes securely with a nice snap closure. Overall, the packaging is beautiful, secure and travel-friendly.

The shade “Cathedral” is a beautiful warm toned muted dusty rose kind of shade without any shimmers. The shade is just so beautiful and great for everyday wear. The color is flattering for most of the Indian skin tones. The lipstick has a nice matte finish. It does not settle to a perfect powder matte finish rather it looks velvety soft on the skin. It has a subtle shine when it is freshly applied and later it sets to a soft velvety matte finish. The formula is amazingly pigmented, which gives bold and opaque coverage in two swipes. It hides mild pigmentation of the lips giving a beautiful opaque finish. The lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance, which is absolutely non-bothering and fades away gradually.

The texture of the lipstick is smooth but it is not creamy and hence it does drag the lips a little. So, it is necessary to exfoliate and moisturize the lips well for a smoother and even lipstick application. It highlights the dry and chapped lips well. It feels comfortable and light on the lips. Though I can feel its presence on the lips, it does not feel like sitting on the lips. The formula is slightly moisturizing. But, my lips get dry after a few hours and I need to apply a lip balm to hydrate my lips. I did not find this formula much hydrating. The lipstick does not smear or feather even upon layering. It does not settle into the fine lines of my lips and it never looks patchy. Being creamy in nature, the lipstick has the tendency to transfer slightly.

The longevity of the lipstick is somewhere around 6-7 hours on my lips with a little fading. It does not completely survive heavy meals and fades away from the center of the lips. The lipstick is easy to remove and does not stain the lips.
