L’OREAL COLOR RICHE ACCORDS INTENSE LIPSTICKS – SWATCHES AND PHOTOS
Hi there again, beautiful ladies who are reading this on IMBB. This is another review of ‘some’ of my recent lipstick purchases, this time from L’oreal. I feel that whenever I am down in the dumps for any reason whatsoever (and sometimes for NO reason at all), there’s nothing that can pick me up better than a lipstick purchase. It instantly perks up my mood and makes me feel like a million dollars. This fact has also been recently documented, as studies on lipstick purchases prove that, during the recent recession, lipstick sales never decreased, in fact, they went up; so that goes to prove that the elevated feeling I get whenever I buy lip colour, is in fact, justified! Anyway, apart from all this, if there’s anything I am forever on the lookout for, it is new shades of lipstick, from no favourite brand in particular, as I love EVERYTHING under the sun as far as lipsticks and lip glosses go. So here we go :-
L’OREAL COLOR RICHE ACCORDS INTENSE LIPSTICKS
Price : Rs. 690/- each
Shades available in India : 286 Burning Rose, 289 Deep Violet, 290 Plum Passion, 296 Deep Garnet, 291 Fever Brown and 295 Intense Ruby (6 shades).
Shades being reviewed : The first five of the above-mentioned shades.
What L’oreal has to say about Color Riche lipsticks :
“Color Riche is enriched with a combination of Omega-3 oils and Vitamin E and helps to protect your lips from drying. It has a soft and creamy texture and it leaves lips feeling moisturized, smooth, with a stunning finish”.
“Finally, easy to wear intense colours…….for intense seduction! L’oreal Paris has designed new intense lip shades to bring out the best in every woman.”
These L’oreal Paris lipsticks come in beautiful gold case packaging and they really look great to show off with, and really attractive whenever you take them out of your handbag. True to their word, this time the colour pay-off is really INTENSE, and just one stroke gives you rich, luscious, beautiful colour. I guess this is why they are not available in lighter shades such as light pinks, peaches, corals or beiges. They are meant to look bold and rich. All of them come in a frost finish.

Photo below : L to R : Lower portion of hand : 291 Fever Brown and Upper portion of hand : 296 Deep Garnet.
286 Burning Rose: This is a slightly bright pink, with an orangish tinge to it. It’s not exactly pink, or orange, or peach, neither red, but somewhere in between these 4 colours. It has a frost finish. See pic below :
290 Plum Passion : This is an intense plum-purple colour and doesn’t have a very frosted finish. See pic below :
296 Deep Garnet : If there is such a colour I could describe as “pastel red”, this would be the shade of this lipstick. It’s a kind of toned-down red, but yet it gives an intense coverage and finish. It has a frosted finish. See pic below :
291 Fever Brown : This shade is not a dark chocolatey-brown, but ‘light’ brown, with a frosted finish. The SA told me it’s the fastest-moving shade of the lot. I never buy brown lipsticks, but I loved the finish and look of this chick. See pic below :
Pros of L’oreal Paris Color Riche Intense Accords :
- Rich, intense colour
- Long-wearing due to its colour intensity
- Attractive case
- Easy availability at all L’oreal counters
- Pleasant smell, though undescribable
- Especially glamourous shades, lovely for party wear, weddings, or the festive season.
- Does not come in a sealed packaging.
- Only 6 shades are available in India.
- L’oreal Paris does not have a product-specific website for India.
- I really can’t think of any other negatives, as I am quite fond of L’oreal as a brand.
Will I re-purchase these again :
Sure, why not, but of course, only if they introduce more shades.
My rating : 5 out of 5.
Have a nice week everyone.
