Recently, L’Oreal Paris has launched their gold makeup collection in India. This gold range has one beautiful gold palette and some gorgeous lipsticks. Today, I am reviewing the L’Oreal Paris La Palette Gold. Let’s get into the details.
Price: Rs. 1450/- for 7g.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Color Riche La Palette Gold:
Packaging: The eyeshadow palette comes in a beautiful black box with golden detailing. This palette is quite small yet sturdy and hence, it is easy to carry around. It has a lovely mirror and a dual ended brush: one side of this brush has a sponge applicator while the other side has a soft smooth brush. This brush works nicely to apply the eyeshadow on the lids.
Shade: The La Palette Gold has 10 gorgeous shimmery shades. Most of the shades are suitable for a party wear and look very glamorous on the eyes. This is not a regular wear palette but, it has some good variety of shades. I can create some bold to soft looks with this one palette but, it doesn’t have any matte shade. Now, let’s talk about the individual shades.
Shade 1: It’s a beautiful light gold toned highlighting shade that provides a perfect illuminating look to the eyes.
Shade 2: It is a gorgeous peach shade that has some shiny glittery particles in it.
Shade 3: This is a pretty shiny light pinkish highlighting shade which looks gorgeous on my skin tone.
Shade 4: It is a beautiful mauve shade with purple undertones and has some noticeable shimmers in it. It is one of my favourite shades and it looks very natural on the eyes.
Shade 5: This one is the darkest shade in the palette and it’s a deep green shade. It doesn’t have any overpowering shimmers but still, it looks so nice.
Shade 6: It’s a dusky warm grey shade with shimmery particles that looks very natural on the eyes.
Shade 7: This is a beautiful light slate blue shade with some gorgeous shimmers in it. This shade is unique and looks really nice on the eyelids. It is one of my favourite shades in this palette.
Shade 8: This is a pretty green shade and it also doesn’t have any shimmers in it.
Shade 9: It is the only gold shade in this palette and it is a pretty yellow based gold but it doesn’t have any shimmers in it.
Shade 10: It is a dark olive green shade with noticeable golden shimmers in it. It has that beautiful shine in it that looks lovely on the eyes.
Pigmentation: All the shades are decently pigmented and a few shades are highly pigmented. When swatched on my hand, they look perfect but a few shades need a base on the eyes to get that perfect color payoff. Otherwise, it looks very nice on the eyes.
Quality and Texture: The texture of these eyeshadows is soft, smooth, light and blends very easily on the eyes. It is a bit powdery but still, it never feels chalky or patchy. The formula looks natural and the shimmers never look overpowering. They provide that perfect balanced look. Also, they never crease at all. The shades have a flawless shiny finish and hence, they are perfect for a party makeup look. You can create a day look as well as a bold night makeup look with this palette. But, these shimmery shades have a fall out issue during application and it is very difficult to dust those shimmers from the face. So, it is better to create the eye makeup look first to avoid the fall out problem. Otherwise, it never settles into fine lines or never irritated my eyes.
Staying Power: The shades stay on my eyes for almost 6-7 hours without a primer. With a primer underneath, it lasts longer and it never looks messy on my oily lids. It is the perfect eyeshadow palette for a lot of skin tones. Also, it is quite easy to remove the glitter with a good makeup remover.
Overall, I love these pretty shades and it looks very nice on the eyes. All the shades look glam in this wedding season and they provide a glittery effect to the eye makeup look. I love its quality and pigmentation too. The only disappointment is, it doesn’t have any perfect glittery gold shade. As it bears the name gold, I expected a nice gold shade but it disappoints me a little.

- A few shades need a base for the perfect color payoff.
- Glittery shades fall out during application.
- It has no shimmery gold shade.

I won’t repurchase it but, I will recommend this palette for a perfect glam eye makeup look.
