My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox and Brighten Mask:
Mud masks are becoming quite a popular beauty trend at the moment, with many brands introducing a variety of formulas. The main ingredient of this L’Oreal mask is Charcoal, which has excellent detoxification properties and it acts like a magnet to suck all dirt, oil and other bad stuff out of your pores. Besides charcoal, it also contains 3 pure clays – kaolinite, montmorillonite, and ghassoul – to deep cleanse, purify and brighten the skin.
This product comes in a small glass jar with a green cap. There is also an outer green color paper carton which contains all the ingredient list and other details. I like the packaging; it’s more like that of a spa product, but since its heavy, I am quite afraid what my toddler will do with it if he ever gets his hands on this, as he loves to play with my makeup. There is also a lid on the mask under the cap.
The texture of this product looks quite thick and moussey, and the color of the product is black just like other charcoal masks, and it also as a strong charcoal fragrance. As described on the packaging, it “glides on the skin” very easily and it’s easy to get a nice, even, thin layer without any patchiness. And the mask also tingles a bit as it dries down.
The mask promises to draw out dirt, oil, and other gunk from pores as well as even out the skin tone and reduces dull skin. I first used this mask when I had some tiny blackheads heads near my nose and I felt my face was lifeless and dull. After using the mask, they actually disappeared completely and my skin transformed. I also noticed that my skin was smoother and softer, and much radiant and bright. It also did mild exfoliation and detoxified my skin very well.
L’Oreal claims that you only have to leave this mask on for 10-15 minutes, and I can attest to that. After 10 minutes, this mask completely dries and it does give you that “stiff” feeling that masks are known for. I have been leaving it on for the full 15 minutes and it still rinses easily after 20 minutes.
This mask has some ingredients similar to that of GlamGlow Youth Mud Charcoal Mask, which I had used as a sample tester, and I think, I love the Loreal mask more and also it performs well.
I have been enjoying this mask quite a bit! I am quite impressed by its performance. Upon using this mask, my skin definitely felt considerably cleaner and softer, but my skin tone was noticeably more even, toned, and radiant. What more to say? I just love this mask!!!
