Hello Pretty Ladies!
Today, I am going to review one of my favorite hair products for curly hair. I have medium wavy-curly hair unlike tight curls and I keep an eye out for the next best product to enhance these curls of mine since they tend to lose texture. I have been using the Curl Power Re-Curling Mousse from L’oreal Paris for almost 3 years now and I absolutely love how it works on my hair type which makes me wonder why I haven’t reviewed it already.
The Re-Curling mousse has a foamy texture that disappears after application and does not feel sticky one bit. It should be used on damp towel-dried hair and it works best when the hair is let to air dry. Blow drying messes it up big time. When blow dried, the mousse doesn’t get enough time to enhance the wet hair cuticles and curl the hair up. I usually use a dollop sized amount on my hand and scrunch through my damp hair focusing on the tips the most. You can also curl your hair with curling iron once the hair is dried to further enhance it.
My hair tends to lose the curls and gets wavy by the end of the day and I hate it. I think all the hair styling is to be blamed for that. When I apply this mousse, I let it air dry and my curls look so perfect, it’s almost shocking what certain products can do to your hair. The curls stay all day long and even the next day! But I wouldn’t suggest leaving the product with chemicals on your hair for 2 whole days.
My only problem with this product is that it just doesn’t work well on my friend’s thin hair. The product gets slightly heavy and weighs down her soft curls leading the hair to fall flat and boring. Also, very little product is required to style the hair. Excess of product makes your hair stiff (just like how hair gel would) and it looks horrible. It has happened to me quite a few times when I am in a hurry and the only way out is to wash it off with just water.
Also, if you have any damaged hair ends, this mousse tends to frizz those out. I would suggest applying some hair serum prior to application of mousse. Last but not least, this product doesn’t have any super strong fragrance which I absolutely love. A bottle of this lasts me a good 5 months with regular usage.
Overall, this is my Holy Grail hair product and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get those perfect curls without spending much.
Approximately Rs.400 for 200 ml.
