A few months back, L’Oreal launched a new professional line called the “Pro Fiber” in India. I picked up a hair mask from the range since L’Oreal is very popular for its hair masks. Rashmita has already reviewed one variant and I am following up with the other one. I have used a lot of professional range masks by L’Oreal, so I was expecting a lot from this one too.

Product Description: This is our Pro Fiber Restore hair care mask for medium to thick, damaged hair. Hair appears smooth as if restored. The hair fibres look shiny and feel soft, smooth and lightweight from root-to-tip. Use it after the Pro Fiber Restore Shampoo and every 4th wash substitute Pro Fiber Restore Masque for the Re-charge Booster to extend the long-lasting resurfacing effect of for up to 6 weeks. Also try our Pro Fiber Restore Leave-in for hair that is protected from heat.

My Experience with L’Oreal Professional Pro Fiber Restore Masque:
Packaging: The hair mask comes in a deep glossy blue packaging with a black cap. The tub looks different from the usual ones from the same brand. It sits nicely on my shelf and is pretty much travel-friendly too. It is on the expensive side but L’oreal salon range products cost this much. The range has 3 different variants depending on the damage to the hair. This is mainly targeted towards overstressed and damaged hair.
Consistency, smell and feel on the hair: The hair mask comes in white colour and has little shimmers in it which give the mask a pearly finish. The consistency is thick, like a hair butter, which makes it glide super easily on my hair. The thickness makes it spread very evenly on my hair shaft and ends and my hair gets completely drenched in the mask. It feels like it starts treating my hair the moment I apply it. The smell is the best part about this mask. It smells heavenly and out of the world. I just get transferred to an awesome spa which is relaxing to my senses. It contains an essence which smells very much like marine and aqua crystals. The scent is very refreshing and it lingers in my hair for a good time.
Results: Like any other hair mask, this one gives my hair softness, smoothness and silkiness. My hair gets detangled very well and my colour looks great too. It does control frizz to an extent, but not like a serum. I can still see the frizzy ends and hair too. I have used better hair masks that control the frizz completely. My hair looks set and great on the next day. But, on the same day when I use this mask, my hair still looks dry. Hence, I make a habit of using it the previous day so my hair looks great the next day. But what I have observed it is that it works just like the cheaper hair treatments from L’Oreal. So, there is no point spending so much when you can get the same for lesser price.

• A little quantity is needed at once
• The fragrance has an essence of marine and aqua notes
• The scent lingers for a few hours
• Makes hair immensely smooth, soft and shiny
• Controls the frizz for a day since I have dry hair
• Good treatment to maintain the health of the hair
Cons of L’Oreal Professional Pro Fiber Restore Masque:
• Expensive
• Works like the cheaper L’Oreal hair spa/treatment
• Does not control frizz to a very good extent
• My hair still looks a bit dry on the same day
• Limited availability

Will I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Professional Pro Fiber Restore Masque?
No, I wouldn’t! This professional range works just like the regular ones from the same brand. So it is okay if you buy the cheaper products; it won’t make any difference.
Conclusion: This is an average mask and it might work better along with other products from the range. But, on its own, it is pretty average.
