My Experience with Marks and Spencer Floral Collection China Blue Moisture Rich Shower Cream:
My skin type information – I have dehydrated skin with an oily t-zone. I have fairly dry body skin. I enjoy using body washes and shower gels with various fragrances, but don’t really have a favourite or “Holy Grail” product. I have reviewed body washes from Dove, The Body Shop, Sephora, Forest Essentials and Marks and Spencer in the past. Basically, I pick a body wash fairly indiscriminately, based on their fragrance and not really their ingredients. Mentioning this up front because the product under review is something which has SLS, which I know can be an immediate NO for some people. If you are one of them, pls stop reading now.
Packaging: The packaging is quite fuss-free and practical. The white curved bottle has an upside down design, which may seem like no big deal, but in reality, it makes a lot of difference while using the product. You don’t have to wait for the product to slide down to the spout. And you are able to use the bottle till the last drop. I have a few shower gels which do not do that – meaning, each has anything from 20-30ml of product lying wasted in it – coz it refuses to travel to the neck!
Fragrance: The smell of this “Blue China” variant is strongly floral but not in an obtrusive way. They also have a hand cream in this fragrance for someone who really likes the fragrance of this one. It does not transfer to the skin for too long, maybe a few minutes; however, it does impact your bath experience.
Texture: The product is a creamy, runny shower cream. It is easy to dispense from the bottle and spreads easily on the body and lathers well. Post washing off, it does not seem to leave a residue or stickiness on the body.
Application: The application is fairly simple and straight-forward. You can use it directly or with a loofah.
Efficacy: A quick look at the claims – “gently cleanse your skin leaving it soft and smooth and beautifully scented.” The shower cream lathers well and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple – there is no feeling of dryness or stretchiness. However, considering how dry my skin really is, I do need to moisturize it post bath. The shower cream is not likely to impart so much moisture to my skin that I could skip using body lotion/oil. The body is “beautifully scented” for all of 5 minutes. 😉 The fragrance does not transfer too well to the body. It could be built up and made to last longer by layering – using body lotion, body mist with the same fragrance.

- The fragrance does not linger on the skin.
- This fragrance may not be for everyone.

Do I Recommend Marks and Spencer Floral Collection China Blue Moisture Rich Shower Cream?
If this is your normal budget for bath products and you don’t mind SLS, go for it. However, if you are thinking that you will suddenly find your HG product here – I don’t think so!
