Montagne Jeunesse Anti Stress Dead Sea Mud Pack

I tried this Montagne Jeunesse mask a couple of months ago when I went to Melbourne for a long weekend. I took photos but never got the time to write the review. However, I really wanted to write this review for IMBB as I really liked this mask and would recommend it to normal and oily/combination skin.  I went to Melbourne to attend a reception of one of my friends. After all the travelling and reaching Melbourne, my skin looked dull and tanned.  I really needed a quick “pick-me-up.” Since I hadn’t carried any of my masks with me, I just walked into a store and picked this one up. The reason for selecting this was because it was a mud pack and also it had essential oils for anti stress.

I ended up using this thrice within a four-day period, even though I knew masks shouldn’t be used this often. This was because I didn’t want to bring a half-used sachet back.

My Take on Montagne Jeunesse Anti-Stress Dead Sea Mud Pack:

In summary, I love this mask.  After being satisfied with this one, I ended up buying the multi-pack with the same version for stocking up, so you know how I feel about this one, is it just me or do all beauty junkies feel the same way, that is, if you spot something you like, you think that MJ is going to cease producing it the next day and plan to hoard as many as possible?  :preen:

Back to the mask, the texture I would say is a cross between a clay and a cream.  It is of light blue colour, not as dark or bright in the picture and the fragrance is supposed to give you “anti-stress” feeling.  I cannot relate the fragrance to anything I have used before.  It is kind of a manly, masculine fragrance which turned me off.  It smelt like my husband’s aftershave.  Even though I love that fragrance on him, I don’t prefer it on me.  It was easy to apply and after covering my face and neck, there was plenty more.  So overall, this mask can be used thrice I would say.

Dead Sea

After washing this off, (it was easy to wash this one off compared to other mud masks from Montagne Jeunesse), my skin felt smoother, pores were shrunken, (yes unfortunately I have got visible pores on my nose and a little bit on my inner cheeks recently).  I didn’t have them a couple of months back and pretty upset about it? Am I getting old? I am only 27 .  The congested pores were cleaned and at least half of the blackheads on my nose disappeared.  My nose looked red for a few minutes afterwards, so I know it worked.  My oily/combination skin felt mattified for the rest of the day and I looked fresh at the event.

Positives of Montagne Jeunesse Anti-Stress Dead Sea Mud Pack:

  • Contains many skin-beneficial ingredients such as dead sea salt, seaweed extract, lavender oil and bergamot fruit oil.
  • Decongests pores and makes them visibly smaller.
  • Targets blackheads and reduces them.
  • Makes skin smooth and radiant with one use.
  • Makes skin softer, does not dry skin.
  • Not tested on animals.
  • Does not contain parabens.

Negatives of Montagne Jeunesse Anti-Stress Dead Sea Mud Pack:

  • The fragrance did not anti-stress me at all, it smelt very manly.
  • Storing the sachets is a problem, since it is a mud mask, it tends to dry out soon.

IMBB Rating:

4.25/5.

Other than the fragrance, I do not have any major complaints.  Again, MJ hasn’t let me down.  Thanks Dee and Jomol for introducing this brand to me .
