Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush Review

Hi IMBBians,

For past of couple of weeks, I have been trying and reviewing Morphe products. Last month I underwent a big shopping spree and bought a bunch of products from the brand Morphe. I had heard so much about this brand from the Youtube makeup bloggers that I had been dying to try out this brand. Although this brand is not available in Ulta stores, most of the items I want are always out of stock – products get sold as soon as they come in. This article is the review of one of the several brushes I bought as part of my haul.

My Experience with Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush:

This brush is a smaller version of M153 brush by Morphe which I reviewed last month. M153 is a versatile brush and can be used in multiple ways and M152 is equally versatile. Some people say that each brush has a specific use and can be used for very specific purposes only, but I do not agree with them. I believe that each makeup brush is versatile and can be used in several ways. This is especially true for eye makeup brushes. They can be used on eyelids, under eyes, brow bones, high points of face, for face and nose contouring and so on.

Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush End

I bought the brush, M152 and M153 by Morphe because of their versatility. It has high density of bristles which are tightly held by a metal case. The bristles are not tightly packed rather have “poofy” tail appearance and feel to them and hence it has the word “fluff” in its description. The bristles are made up of an artificial material which is preferable for me because, natural bristles absorb more product because of pores in them. Also, I find it easier to clean an artificial bristled brush.

I use this brush in several ways and found easier to use than M153 because, the later one is larger and picks up more product and I ended up adding more color to my lids than needed. In case of M152, I use the flat sides of it to pack on powder or glitter eye shadows on my lids and then use its fluffier end to blend it into my eye crease. The fluffier end can also be used to apply a highlighter shade on the browbone or inner corner of the eyes to brighten it up. It can also be used to blend some leftover eyeshadow on it on the water line or apply lower powder in the undereye area. Apart from eye area, it can also be used to contour nose to give it a more chiseled appearance, apply highlighter on the cheek bones and on collar bones.

Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush Handle

This brush is easy to clean (I use rubbing alcohol for spot cleaning or mild dish cleaning detergent for deep cleaning). It does not shed and does not feel cheaply made. The only improvement it requires is the length of the handle which I find a bit too short.

Pros of Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush:

  • Affordable and is available online or in Morphe or Ulta retail stores.
  • Smaller version of M153 and slightly better because, it picks up right amount of product and prevents the look from getting too messy.
  • Bristles are made up of an artificial material and are easy to clean and do not shed.
  • Picks up good amount of product and can be used to pack on loose powder on the lids.
  • Versatile and can be used on eye lids or eye area. It can also be used on the high points and hollows of the face.

Cons of Morphe M152 Medium Chisel Fluff Brush:

  • Availability can be an issue for some. Consumers outside USA might have to use third party seller to buy Morphe products and might be forced to pay higher than the actual retail price.
  • Can’t think of a con and rather it is a better version of M153, at least for me.

IMBB Rating: 4.7/5
