Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff Review

Hi IMBBians,

For the past couple of weeks, I have been trying and reviewing Morphe products. Last month I splurged a little and bought a bunch of products from the brand Morphe. My haul consisted of makeup brushes and single eye shadows. I have been trying them out for past couple of weeks and reviewing them as I form an opinion about them. This brand is now available in Ulta stores but most of the items I want are always out of stock – products get sold as soon as they come in.

My Experience with Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff:

This brush is a denser version of M152 and M153 chisel fluff brushes by Morphe, which I recently reviewed. M209 is not so much a blending brush as it is meant for packing of eye shadows on the lids. I would not recommend this brush for blending because, it moves the product around and doesn’t blend it as a fluffy brush. This brush has a limited usage because of the bristle density and it cannot be used alone and has to be followed by a blending brush to finish the look.

Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff Packaging

This brush has high density of bristles which are tightly held by a metal case. The bristles are tightly packed and has a dense end as well. The bristles are made up of an artificial material which is preferable for me because, natural bristle brush absorb more product because of pores in them. Also, I find it easier to clean an artificial bristle brush.

I use this brush to pick up loose or pressed powder eye shadow and press it on my lids. It works the best if the eye lids are prepped with a primer or a cream eye shadow underneath or else the loose powder fall all over the place and ruin the eye makeup underneath the eyes. It can also be used to pick glitter pigments and pack on the lids, but I guess this needs more skill than usual eye shadow blending. This step can be done before the rest of the face makeup is done to prevent the base makeup from getting spoilt.

Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff Handle

All the Morphe brushes are easy to clean (I use rubbing alcohol for spot cleaning or mild dish cleaning detergent for deep cleaning), it does not shed and does not feel cheaply made.

Pros of Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff:

  • Affordable and is available online or in Morphe or Ulta retail stores.
  • Dense version of M153 and M152 and is perfect for packing loose or powder eye shadow on lids.
  • Can also be used to apply glitter eyeshadow on lids.
  • Bristles are made up of an artificial material and are easy to clean and do not shed.
  • With a little extra care, it can be used to blend eyeshadow in the waterline.

Cons of Morphe M209 Chisel Pointed Fluff:

  • Availability can be an issue for some. Consumers outside USA might have to use third party seller to buy Morphe products and might be forced to pay higher than the actual retail price.
  • The end of this brush is dense and can be used only for layering of product on lids and not for blending.
  • This brush cannot be used alone since it needs to be followed by a blending brush and this limits the versatility of this brush a little.

IMBB Rating: 4/5
