Of all the skin concerns I have, I never thought large pores would be one of them (mostly because I never had any). But now, I do have some and they are further accentuated when I wear highlighter on my cheeks, hence they must be dealt with before they reach alarming proportions and make me question highlighter application. Fortunately, aloe vera is perfect to gradually diminish large pores. I bought this product to make aloe vera application easier, since natural aloe vera, although most potent is way too slimy and cumbersome to apply.
Light and refreshing facial mist keeps your skin looking rejuvenated with its 92% aloe vera content. Handy spray bottle makes it easy to keep in your handbag all day for a quick skin pick-me-up anywhere!
Aloe vera leaf extract (92%), ethanol, glyceryl polyacrylate, propylene glycol, Butylene glycol, glycerin, propylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, poly-glutamic acid mix, etc.
My Experience with Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist:
Most ingredients in skin care products have been replaced by complex-sounding chemicals, which do work, but I still have faith in natural ingredients which are readily available in our kitchen cabinet or a grocery store. Aloe vera is one such tried and tested and trusted ingredient which does wonders for skin and hair too.
It may sound a bit absurd but what I liked about this product is how the brand is honest about aloe vera percentage in the product. Most aloe vera gels and mists claim that they are 99.99% pure when they are actually not and have bunch of other chemicals and preservatives. Nature Republic’s aloe vera mist is upfront about its 92% aloe vera content and clearly discloses other ingredients present in it (website might not give full details, but at the back of the bottle, the full list of ingredients is mentioned, except that it is a little hard to read).
The mist comes in a 150 ml bottle with a spray mechanism to dispense product directly on to face or on a cotton pad. Packaging appears sturdy and looks like it will last till I run out of the product. Product description on the website says that it can be applied before or after makeup, but I am yet to try the later.
I mostly use it for the “7 skin method,” wherein I take a pump of product on my palm and dab it on to my face and I repeat this multiple times. This method is popular among Korean beauty enthusiasts since it helps skin absorb toner better and add more moisture.
The product has no artificial fragrance, in fact, it has no smell at all, which works fine for me because most aloe vera-based mists have pungent smell (the kind that a natural aloe vera leaf has) and I prefer odor neutralizers to make application process more pleasant. It has no artificial color as well and feels just like water except that, unlike water, it sits on skin, adds hydration and a faint glow.
It is an affordable face mist which does what a face toner or mist is supposed to do – prep skin for further layering of skin care products, followed by makeup. It is perfect for those who need an affordable and potent toner.
Pros of Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist:
- It is an affordable face mist.
- Comes in a good sized bottle.
- Has no fragrance (I was expecting a pungent smell because of aloe vera).
- Has no artificial color.
- Ingredient list is clearly disclosed.
- This mist adds hydration and glow to skin.
Cons of Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist:
- Availability can be an issue for some, but some Korean websites do ship to India as well.
- It does contain alcohol and other chemicals for the sake of preservation and other cosmetic purposes.
- I wish the ingredient list had fewer chemicals.
