NYX Butter Lip Balm in Pannacotta Review

Parfait, Red Velvet, Macaron, Marshmallow, Biscotti, Brownie – no you didn’t just enter a bake house. These are some of the names that NYX has given to its butter balm colours. Decadent! Along with Burt’s Bees tinted balm in Petunia, I picked up NYX Butter Lip balm in Pannacotta as an addition to my tinted lip balm collection.

My Experience with NYX Butter Lip Balm in Pannacotta:

This balm took me quite by surprise considering I got this along with Burt’s Bees tinted balm. The latter was extremely buttery melting on your lips or fingers, while the “butter” balm was hard, a little grainy and almost had a matte feel. It does not glide on as smoothly as butter would do. What I am trying to say is Burt’s was almost pasty. This holds its form, more so during the first few uses.  You cannot squish it easily like usual lip balms
which is good, so you have to apply more-than-usual pressure to apply this.

Pannacotta is a natural pink with warm tones. The pigmentation is amazingly superb owing to the matte feel. I liked it better than their own tinted lip balms (I have tried Shukran) and perhaps even better than some lipsticks that I have tried!!

I love how it sits on my lips even if it slightly shows off the fine lines. The moisturization is also amazingly good for such a matte feel balm. The colour stays on for almost 4 hours, the balm being non greasy and the hydration stays for 2-3 hours.

I like that the whole tube is coloured like the balm inside and not just strips like NYX’s tinted balms.  It smells slightly candy-like and I like it 😛

This is a perfect addition to my hand bag when I need moisture and color on my lips, but I am too lazy to reach for gloss and lipstick.

On a final note, I think this is the best tinted lip balm that I have ever used!

Pros of NYX Butter Lip Balm in Pannacotta:

• Amazing pigmentation for a butter balm.
• Moisturizing in spite of being matte.
• Colour stays for 4 hours, hydration for 2-3 hours.
• Cannot be squished easily.

Cons of NYX Butter Lip Balm in Pannacotta:

• Can accentuate lip lines.
• Name is a misnomer since it is not one bit buttery.

Yes, it is my most favourite tinted balm till date! I want to try out all the colours.
