I can’t quite stop myself from buying NYX and ELF products these days, but what irks me the most is that they are so expensive here as compared to USA. Okay, today, I am going to talk about NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Buttery Nude.
Its not a lipstick, nor is it a gloss. Its like nothing you have experienced before. Its liquid lipstick that goes on with full Xtreme color and intense shine.

My Take on NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Buttery Nude:
This lip cream comes in a transparent slender tube. The packaging is quite sturdy. I dropped it twice last night, but glad that it is intact. It has a slanted sponge wand applicator which picks up the right amount of color. I like the quality of this applicator as it feels smooth on my lips.
As the name suggests, it is indeed buttery. The lip cream spreads really well. If you have dry lips, it will settle in the fine lines, so the key is to apply a little lip balm under this lip cream.
Oh well, I thought it would be nude as in a little towards brown, that’s how it looks in the tube, but when applied, it turns out to be a peachy nude kind of color.
I have wheatish complexion and I feel that the color washes me out if I give my lips full coverage. The color looks good after some time when it blends perfectly with my lips and when it fades a little. I think it would compliment pale skin tones more.

I read some reviews on this and many find that the staying power of this lip cream is good, but I didn’t find this particular shade long lasting. It faded away within 2 hours, that too without having meals. It transfers on cups easily and hence fades equally faster.
It smells kind of sweet and I quite like the fragrance. Although, the fragrance is not too mild, it does fade off after some time.
So, summing it up:
- It is a buttery, smooth lip cream.
- Doesn’t dry out my lips.
- If you have dry lips, prep your lips before you apply this (exfoliate and moisturize them with lip balm).
- Transfers easily on cups/glasses.
- Staying power is average.
