Hello Guys! A very Happy Independence Day to everyone!
Today’s outfit is special. How? It’s a celebration of 65 years of independence and with it, I liberate myself from two inhibitions, which I’ve had for the longest time! First, trying colour-blocking! Second, wearing leggings. Let me tell you more!
As I’ve told you guys before, I’m only at the beginner level of the colour-blocking trend, but today, I free myself from all my reservations related with it. I have to admit that every time I’ve tried to colour-block my outfits, the results have been good. Hence, I’ve made it a point to experiment with it more- and more confidently!
The leggings part is as follows. About a fortnight back, I was completely against the leggings trend! (Why? That’s a long story. Let’s keep it for some other time!) I picked up these only because my friend was buying herself a pair and she asked me to try them once, and start hating the trend only after having given it a shot! But as they say – Rest is History! I feel like a fool for being anti-leggings for all this time and in just about 10 days, I bought one in black and red and white! I’m planning to get myself one in pink and yellow!! Eee..! Not only for the colour, but I love this pair for the comfort! The fabric is 100% cotton- and *sigh*! Hope that conveys it all! The best part is, they work equally well with the kurtas too. 😀
I’m wearing this outfit today- to the movies, first; followed by a little Independence Day party at a friend’s. This has to be the first time ever that I wore an “Independence Day outfit.” I usually go the patriotic path with tricolour bangles, or a tricolour bindi, or a tricolour manicure, or even a tiny flag on the cheek. But this time, I went a step ahead. The white shirt you see, is also a new found love! Actually, I’d been looking for the perfect white shirt for the longest time! All in vain, I decided to take matters into my own hands! I got it stitched!! 😀
Shirt: Stitched at my mother’s boutique
Leggings: Some GK shop (Making a mental note to self- Always take down the Shop names. ALWAYS!)
Shoes: Tresmode (Can I please wear them everyday?)
Sunglasses: Charles and Keith
Friendship Band: Gifted by my most dear friend of them all! (I’ve been wearing it everyday now! Love it so much!)
And, here’s that special friend of mine….Kshrija!
Isn’t she the cutest?
Have a good day all of you!
By the way, I’m going to be watching the first-day-first-show of “Ek Tha Tiger!” *dancing* Shall I make you all go green with envy? I met Salman Khan while he was shooting for the movie at India Gate and later I drove right next to his car!! It was a crazy-crazy day!! I can’t wait to see that scene! Hope I can get a glimpse of myself in some corner! 😀 😉
Thank you so much for your beautiful comments! :*
Take care. 😀
