Begin by applying your favorite Revlon concealer to entire eyelid as an eye base, giving the shadow something extra to cling to for longer wear. Using the enclosed shadow applicator, choose your favorite medium shade for all-over application; gently sweep your favorite color across lids for smooth, rich deposit of shadow.(from Revlon website).
Like I said, I will be reviewing another one from this new range by Revlon. These have come out in 5 shades of pink, silver, teal, black and plum, but I had a hard time choosing between plum, black and teal one. I had to pick two, three would have have been lust :P, so I had to stop myself, but nevertheless, these are Rs. 500 each, so this factor too stopped me from picking up the black one as well.
I don’t know why the silvery white and the pink one did not attract me at all. I have a silvery pink “Gray Pink” quad by Maybelline and it looks oh-so-hopeless on me. It looks like I dunk my eye into chalk plus glitter of some silver and pink and the colors don’t show up with clear definition on me, at least that’s why I thought if I have to spend Rs. 500 on a single shadow with shimmer, it better be good at smokey eyes with nice pigmentation, leaving you with nothing else to be darker on your face; I mean a lipstick has to be pink nude with this “Neptune Star,” so to say.
The shadow is a very pretty teal blue with loads of multicoloured shimmer to it, literally chunky glitter, I would say. When I swatch, it feels a little gritty to me and I can see the multidimensional blue glitter with rainbow colors to it 😀 I am not so much into glitter business for the eyes, but these shadows are packed with pigmented color and then topped off with glitter and shimmer making it perfect for clubbing and parties.
These shadows alone are enough to give you a smokey look without any creasework or any liner, I still went ahead with dramatic black liner and black for the crease. I don’t know I can’t stay without two colors mixed up, but not more than two for the eye.
The shadow is soft, pigmented, gorgeous blue and very shimmery. I would say the fallout is very minimal. The glitter you can see around my eye is because of my dirty finger and not because of any fallout. I tried to go under the lower lash line, but could not. It doesn’t crease for long on me, used over some foundation or concealer that makes it cling, I am happy with the results.
