A lip stain that provides beautiful, long-lasting color. This high-coverage lip product features avocado oil for a texture that transforms as you wear it: when applied, the initial cream texture becomes a silky, lightweight stain. Lips achieve stunning color and feel soft and comfortable.
This creamy lip stain comes in an ordinary plastic tube packaging with black cap. Nothing fancy about the packaging, it’s travel friendly, but the smell is really weird, not for me. I love fruity sweet fragrances and it’s kind of synthetic.
My Experience with Sephora Cream Lip Stain – Strawberry Kissed:
Well, I am a sucker for reds and pinks – I have many red lipsticks, but I can never let go of an urge to get them the moment I notice them in the store or online. However, this red was not on my mind while checking Sephora cream lip stains. Sephora cream lip stain have some 10 shades, majority of them fall in the fuchsia, red, pink, and beige color brackets apart from wine and plums, but none of them were for my skin tone and honestly, I was really scared of such bold and loud matte stains, hence I played safe and opted for my favorite red (I know I can never go wrong with red). Moreover, I must say, it takes hell lot of courage to wear matte shades, that too bold stains. The moment I slathered this Strawberry Kissed stain on my lips, I was slightly nervous because it’s super bold and gives powdery matte finishing on the lips after a while. No matter whether I use gentle touch-ups or swipe it, this shade comes up really bold and matte on the lips, an ideal choice for pigmented lips, considering its deep pigmentation and complete coverage.
The shade is super hot and pinkish red without sparkles, it will look best on fair skin/medium skin tones with pink undertone preferably. Leaving its matte and bold finishing, I loved the shade on my lips. It instantly gears up and brightens my skin like strawberry, but that smell, ugh! The texture of this creamy stain is slightly heavy and runny, but once you know the trick, it really glides easily on the lips in just one swipe on both upper and lower lips. I just need a second swipe to give a finishing and soft touch.
Even though it’s a matte stain, it does not accentuate dry lips or settle into the fine lines unless the lips are chapped or if we swipe it multiple times! It seems a runny and watery stain initially, but it turns out to be a powdery matte stain within a few seconds. I never thought I would love to wear matte lipsticks or stains because they can make us look older and mature, but thankfully, this matte stain just gives me rosy look.
Needless to say, it does not hydrate the lips. Also, doesn’t irritate or feather. As it dries out, it gives a clean, rosy, matte finishing with complete color payoff. Another impressive feature is its super staying power, it stayed for almost 8-10 hours on my lips with heavy meals, water sips and endless talks, can you believe! Even if it fades away after 12 hours, I can notice a stubborn red stain that does not settle into my lip crevices, but it’s not easily removable unless we use oil or remover. After using this stain, I am feeling confident and thinking of wearing matte stains more often. I recommend this long-lasting super pigmented rosy red shade to all fair/medium rosy beauties especially if you are matte lovers and want a deep and long-lasting lip stain, it’s a must-have matte red!
Let’s sum pros and cons:
Pros of Sephora Cream Lip Stain – Strawberry Kissed:
- A gorgeous creamy pinkish-red shade without shimmer.
- It gives complete coverage and deep pigmentation in just one swipe.
- An ideal pick for fair/medium skin tones.
- It will instantly add glow to the skin and gives a rosy sheen to the skin as well.
- The texture feels watery and creamy initially on the lips, but dries to a powdery lip stain within a few seconds.
- Does not hydrate lips, also does not accentuate any issues unless lips are really chapped.
- Matte stain, but as long as it stays on the lips, I have never felt like using a lip balm or gloss.
- Super pigmented and gives complete coverage, ideal for pigmented lips.
- Stays on for 10-12 hours with heavy meals and water sips.
- Even when it fades away, leaves a stubborn red sheen on the lips which does not settle into the lip crevices hence it looks fine and can be removed with oil/remover.
- The stain neither feathers nor settles into the fine lines unless we swipe it more than 3-4 times.
- Travel-friendly packaging.
Cons of Sephora Cream Lip Stain – Strawberry Kissed:
- It does transfers to cups, skin, everywhere 😛
- The scent of this stain is just ugh!
- This cream lip stain range is only meant for daredevils, as all the shades are super bold and deep, not for the faint hearts 😛
- Need to layer it quickly for finishing else it may dry super fast and give an ugly messy look.
- You need a makeup remover to get it off the lips completely.
Despite the cons, I love it and thinking of splurging on more matte stains and lipsticks for a change. If you are a matte lover and you wish to get a long-lasting bold red lip stain, then this cream lip stain is apt for you, they do have another red – “Always Red,” and I am thinking of getting it too 😀 Just try it out and see yourself, they are amazing!
On a different note, we are again experiencing heavy rains and pours, it’s 7 am and Aadya is already up to enjoy the rain and help mum 😀
