SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Grow Treatment Masque Review

This product is another great find from the brand SheaMoisture; I am sort of addicted to this brand because of all natural, affordable and effective products. For quite some time I have been using Tresemme and Equate Keratin Shampoo and conditioners to wash my hair, but I felt that even though they were cleaning my hair really well, they were also drying out my hair due to excessive amount of lathering agents present in them (sulphates) and hence I decided to go for something milder and gentler and I am glad I found a relatively cheap alternative in my local drug store.Keep reading to know more about it.

My Experience with SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Grow Treatment Masque:

I don’t really use hair masks because I do an overnight hot oil treatment before every shampoo session and that ensures the health of my hair, hence a regular conditioner is enough for my hair and I never felt the need to deep condition my hair but this product was available in a sachet form so I decided to try it out before buying a full-size product.

Packaging: The product comes in a 1.7 oz packet and a tiny amount can be dispensed as and when needed. Storing such packets is a bit tricky but as the product is very dense so there is no worry about spillage and also it gets over after few uses.
name

Consistency: It is a deep conditioner hence it is meant to be of thicker consistency. It has to be applied like a mask, hence it has a body butter consistency and is easy to spread and layer on hair strands and scalp if needed.

Fragrance: I love the fragrance – nothing particular I can pin point to but still it is very mild and pleasant and lingers in my hair for a while.

Efficacy: This deep conditioner is better than other drug-store deep conditioners because it contains more favorable and milder ingredients which are more gentle on hair and do not leave residue behind but I have to be very careful about the amount of product to be applied, otherwise my hair becomes very oily and appear unwashed within a day, hence it is better to apply just a tiny bit at the ends and tips of hair to avoid weighing down of hair. It is also good for those who tend to heat style their hair after shampooing.

Conclusion: it is a good and inexpensive deep conditioner which would do well in the shower routine and best of all it is gentle and mild to my hair and does not dry it out. It is best to buy it first in sachet form and then buy a full size if one desires.

Would I Repurchase SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Grow Treatment Masque?
Maybe not because like I mentioned before, the hot oil treatment is enough for my hair but those with dry and brittle hair should definitely try it.
