Silver Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial
I was playing with my new Camera so I thought I’d do a small tutorial . Easy, simple and very wearable silver black smokey eye. For day time, you can skip doing the bottom lash line. For night time, it looks quite glamorous. I have used Estee Lauder Smoke Out Palette in this tutorial but you can use any Smokey eye palette. Almost all brands offer basic black eyeshadow palette. 🙂
Here is the look we are going for!
Start by priming your eye lids.
Take a soft brown eyeshadow and apply it all over the lid. Go past the crease. This would add gradation to black.
MAC Soft brown eyeshadow all over the lids and above the crease.
Now take a black eye kohl
And rim both your upper and lower lash line. Don’t bother about getting it perfect, we’ll smudge it. 🙂
Smudge black eyeliner using a pencil brush.
Now using a fluffy brush, blend the black eyeliner upwards on the lid.
Pick up any smokey eye palette. Most palettes do have these 4 basic colours- black, white, matte grey and shimmery silver.
3 easy steps :
Apply silver eyeshadow in the inner corner
Apply grey eyeshadow on the center
And black eyeshadow on the outer corner
Blend using a fluffy brush. Make sure there are no harsh lines. Take your time here in blending because we are almost done. 🙂
Apply Compact powder on brow bone.
Apply matte white eyeshadow on the inner corner. This would make sure that your eyes don’t look too closed.
Curl lashes and apply mascara
Done!! :))
And that’s a full pic. I used bronzer on cheeks so that it balances out the cool colours used on the eyes and kept my lips pretty nude. 🙂

take a brush like Sigma E 70 https://makeupandbeauty.com/sigma-professional-brush-kit-review-eyes/
This has an angled shape and it totally fits in the outer V of your lids. Also, it comes with practise. Keep working on it you;d be able to do it. :-*

colorbar offers a silver eyeshadow at Rs 250. maybelline has a smokey eyeshadow quad I think. Do not pick up lakme smokey eye quartet. 😛 Check out faces as well. i am not sure if they have but they might. Loreal has a black smokey eye shadow quad. 🙂

I need to buy a pencil brush for smudging & applying shadow on lower lash line. Which one do u suggest which is cheap & best?
Monika i have not seen a pencil brush in budget brands. :(( they offer smudgers but i find them difficult to use. Colorbar came up with a pencil brush but bad quality. So all I know are Inglot, MAC and Sigma. :((

Silver is a good color for most people…..and it goes with black, blue,dark purple etc…its a versatile color!

Dint get time to shop in bombay.. But made u! Wit some retail therapy on the indigo flight.. Picked up this eye kit from deborah milano.. Bought it more for the pouch – sexy red leather pouch for carrying make up n accessories..
It has a mascara eyeliner n kajal pencol.. N very reasonably priced too .. Only 900! Its a steal! Even the air hostesses wanted to have a look at the pouch after i bought it.. Cant wait to try it out..

Hi Rati, the look is really nice and you look lovely in it. Wanted to ask you one thing – that you have put MAC Minetalize SOF 15 foundation. My question to you is that wouldn’t the spf (sunscreen) in it give one a white cast in flash photography? I see that you look lovely and there is no white cast. Inspite of the spf, how did you manage not to have the white cast? When I put sunscreen on, it does lead to white cast in photos even if there is a non spf foundation on top of the sunscreen. How can I avoid the white cast?
I plan to buy Estee Lauder Double wear maximum cover SPF 15 or Estee Lauder Double wear SPF 10 because they would cover my acne scars the best but the only thing that stops me right now is that the SPF in them might lead to a white cast in flash photography. I anyway put Neutrogena dy touch sunblock with SPF 50 (Helioplax) and on that if I put a foundation with spf, how can I prevent the white cast in flash photography?
Or is it that SPF has nothing to do with white cast, as some people say. I have read comments which say that if the colour of the foundation does not match you, then the white cast would be there in “flash” photos, not becaue of the spf or one’s sunscreen? Please do share your views on my questions.
