Hello friends,
Fresh from my success with a fruity fragrance in the form of VS Vanilla Lace, I was eager to try out more fragrances in the same genre. Growing up having gulped voracious amounts of mangoes – fruits and candies – the obvious choice of fruit was, mango ! However I cannot deny the fact that while I was in The Body Shop store, I temporarily did gravitate towards my favorite – Moringa. Well, I decided to stick to my plan and picked up the Mango body mist as I was enthusiastic to try out my new-found fruity feat. I will reveal in the review, what made me choose the body mist though…please read on 🙂
Packaging:
The body mist is packaged in a transparent glass bottle with a spray nozzle on it. Since the bottle is made of glass, I am a little hesitant to keep it in the bag for the fear that it might break. A pretty picture of mango adorns the bottle. Along with the Mango body mist, TBS also has body mists in fragrances of Moringa, Strawberry, Vineyard Peach, Vanilla, Pink Grapefruit, Coconut , Shea, and Satsuma.
Price:
3.3 oz (100 ml) bottle is priced at $12
Product Description:
My Experience with The Body Shop Mango Body Mist:
True to its title, the body mist does smell of mangoes but not exclusively, if I may add. It also has a citrusy tinge to it. The presence of mango extracts and community fair trade essence from sugarcane adds sweetness to it. Now let me tell you why I picked up the body mist.
Body mists have lesser concentration of fragrance oils compared to perfumes. Though I like mangoes, I did not want to end up smelling like “Frooti.” 😛 Hence I picked up this body mist thinking that it would just give a hint of mango fragrance. The body mist does have a very mild aroma, but sadly, the fragrance does not even last for more than an hour. So, I have to constantly re-apply every 2 -3 hours.
When I used the body mist by itself, it was not very effective. However, if the body mist is layered with body lotion or body butter, the body mist would help in enhancing their fragrance. I found this body mist more useful when I want to quickly spritz fresh perfume on the go, like while running errands.
The body mist is more suitable for summer times with its refreshing cool aroma. It is a fruity fragrance but not overpowering enough to make myself feel doused in fruit salad.
Pros of The Body Shop Mango Body Mist:
- As per its name, the body mist does smell like mangoes with mild citrusy notes.
- More suitable to use during summer times.
- Fragrance of the body mist is mild and not very overpowering.
- Has fruity fragrance.
Cons of The Body Shop Mango Body Mist:
- Fragrance does not last for more than an hour.
- Has to be constantly reapplied and layered with similar mango fragrant body lotion or body butter.
- Packaging is in a glass bottle, so have to be careful while keeping in purse or bag.
- Pricey for body mist as it does not last long.
- Would be suitable only if you have affiliation towards mango fragrance.
- The bottle did not have ingredients listed on it so need to check the TBS website.
IMBB Rating:
2.5/5
Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Mango Body Mist?
Well, I am not entirely happy with this body mist, so I would not pick it up again. The fact that it did not last longer than an hour is making me apprehensive to pick up other body mists from TBS. I would recommend the Mango mist to you only if you like mango aroma. But please make sure to have the mango scented body lotion or body butter to use with this body mist to enhance and layer the fragrance.
