The Body Shop Olive Body Butter Review

THE BODY SHOP OLIVE BODY BUTTER REVIEW

When I got this, I was a little apprehensive keeping the mind the humid climate in my city and as such we had never had proper winters. And now when temperatures have dipped I am so glad I have this to protect my skin from all the winter trouble. Body shop body butters don’t really need an introduction, so really quickly jumping to the review…
TBS Olive Body Butter –

The Body Shop Oilve Body Butter

Pros –
1. Keeps skin hydrated for a good 8-9 hours. The texture of my skin has improved; I think it is because of this.
2. Gets absorbed instantly, no greasiness felt.
3. Has a very fresh smell, I am in love with the smell, at times I find myself opening the tub and sniffing. 😛
4. Doesn’t melt easily, I had overheated my room once, the Shea lip butter melted but this was intact.

Cons-
1. The same story with all TBS butters, comes in a tub so hygiene is a big concern.
2. A bit expensive at 745 Rs. but worth every penny .Also we can always pick it up during sales.
3. Not totally natural. It has an equal share of chemicals but body shop claims to be totally natural.

What I think – This is a must have for me in all winters to come; it keeps my skin thoroughly hydrated even on the painfully chilly windy days. It is very soft and gets absorbed instantly. It looks like any normal cream but the moisturising effect is unbeatable. And you don’t need a lot of product; a little goes a long way.

I have also used it on my face. The amount of product in the picture with a drop of my Aroma magic toner rubbed in works amazingly well. None of the winter creams survive my 6 a.m. bike ride and my skin is stretched and dry after some time but this one has a different story – Perfectly moisturised skin.

The Body Shop Oilve Body Butter

Will I repurchase – YES, only in winters .

Rating – 5/5 .I wanted to cut a point for it not being totally natural, but we don’t really have a choice.

  1. Hi Naina…my question is can we use these body butters all over the body or its meant only for hands/feet???I mean with so much amount of chemicals,is it safe on other body parts??

    1. umm .. i use it all over ..hands, feet, back … it hasnt done any harm …. even on face it was perfectly okay … no reaction or allergies …. see the chemicals is such that every almost every moisturising product has them so as i said we really dont have an option.. i had read somwer that even Lush has its share of chemicals… errr … soo
i think it is safe ..
      :-/

        1. i have never been able to take a stand on cosmetics having carcinogens … as in people have used them since soo long and still are okay …so how much they actually contribute in developing cancer is a big question for me … we need a thorough transparent study to clear eevrything .. and TBS claims to be an all natural brand but you see ingredients , as scary as any other drugstore brand .. something needs to be done noo ?:) ?:) ?:)

          1. Yup !!I have seen many ppl say the products have like..one drop of olive oil(or whatever it is) and rest is full of those chemicals!!!
I think face/hands are fine…m lil skeptical about using it on my body

            1. Sonam, generally ingredients list has the various ingredients listed in order of their quantity..so if Olive oil comes first in the list that is the maximum quantity..so that way, this looks quite good to me compared to so many other regular options. If you want a purely natural chemical-free moisturizing option, you would probably have to just use some pure oil – olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil 😀 😀 And in that then there would be the debate of cold pressed versus refined..so really its all about finding a balance between ingredients and packaging and prettiness and good smell etc etc    Thankooo..class over..everyone go to sleep

  2. naina………6 am bike ride in delhi winters…………. ?????????????chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllllll..
i wish we had an animation for this….a shivering. smiley…..

  4. :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: You overheated your room….you yellow baldie……….that’s why you don’t have hair on your yellow head :yelo: :yelo:

      1. yess.. it was so coldddd …. and that stupid shea lip butter melted .. poora liquid :violinbash: :violinbash: :violinbash: :violinbash:

  5. You used that on your face???? I liked the ingredient list though…will try this after I finish up all my body butter/creams

  6. oh!! You use it on your face…?? I dont think that is recommended na..Why dont you pick up blossom kochhar almond moisturising lotion. It is quite thick and heavy and might survive your 6 am ride.

But I do love TBS body butters..they are such a must have for winters.. :))

  7. Hi I was a big fan of TBS. I ve this olive, Shea, cocoa, moringa n vit e body butter lying infront of me( I normally buy on 20-30% disc). I think ur suggestion to people for putting it on face is not right.in simple words it contains so much fragrance that it can’t b save for any type of skin in long run or for some people a few mins after applying it ll get rash.If u look into ingredients list it contains
    1) alcohol
    2) perfume
3)color. This can’t b save for any skin
