The body shop almond

It comes in a cream beige tub, which is the typical TBS kind. The cream itself is cream colored and has a very distinct sweet smell, which surprisingly my sensitive nose doesn’t have any problem with. In fact, I quite like the almond smell it has.

The texture is very creamy and only a little quantity is required for both the hands. Just realized how dry my hands look in the first picture.:P

My Experience with The Body Shop Almond Oil Hand Rescue Treatment:

I have been using this since the last 2 months. The reason I picked this up was my hands were really getting very dry lately. The kind of lifestyle I had earlier never demanded any “hand work” except for operating a computer at work 😛 So, never had the requirement of any hand cream, but now that I have become a full-time housewife, I very much understand the need of a good hand cream for that much-needed extra protection. :haanji:

Frankly speaking, I never noticed any extraordinary difference since I started using this. My hands were moisturized instantly and they felt soft, but nothing very dramatic. I was worried about the recently-developed dry skin on the corners of my fingers, which have become a little soft now. So, I kept on using it every day twice or thrice and a lot of it in the night before going to sleep.

It so happened that last week, all my family was gathering at Kolkata for durga puja and the first thing my sister-in-law commented was “what have you done to your hands!!!” and I was like huh!!! What??? She was like “no, kuchh toh kiya hai.”

She even asked my mum if she noticed any change. Mum being my mum kept on staring my hands for long and then answered yeah, she has nail paints on 😛 It was so funny I tell you and the best part was I was thinking hard to get a reason for my suddenly attractive and beautiful hands and the only change in my routine I could think of was “I do the dishes now”. :shutmouth: :shutmouth: They all had a good laugh about it.

The next day, bhabhi was again curious to know what is the thing :stars: :stars: :stars:. That’s when I realized it must be the hand rescue only. :preen:, cannot tell you how happy I was at that time to know the change is so very noticeable. To tell you the truth, I still cannot see much difference, but it must be working right to get that kind of attention to my hands. Maybe it is so slow that I couldn’t notice the changes, but the fact that it has made my hands more beautiful (according to my sister in law 😀 ) cannot be ignored . :manicure:

The only drawback I find with this is the greasiness, if you are not careful and pick a little more than required. I can manage that in the night, but you have to be cautious and take a very little amount during the day or else you will end up having oily hands, which leaves oily patches on everything your hand touches. It takes a while to know the exact amount you need when you start. I just swipe my finger on top of it twice and it’s enough for both the hands. So, a little goes a long way as with most of the Body Shop products.

Coming down to the pros and cons.

Pros:

1. Provides instant moisturisation.
2. When applied at night, you wake up to soft and supple hands in the morning.
3. Softens any dry or hard skin of the hands.
4. Very small quantity is required for both the hands.
5. Once it so happened that I applied this on my hands and then forgot about it. I was watching TV and absentmindedly rubbed my lips and voila!! They felt so soft instantly.. Unlike on the hands, it gets absorbed really well on the lips. Whenever I have extremely dry or chapped lips, I just put this on before going to bed and the dryness is taken care of. :haanji:

Cons:

1. Takes some time to get absorbed nicely.
2. You have to be really careful about the amount.
3. Tub packaging which is not so hygienic.

My Rating:

4 out of 5 (minus one for the greasiness).

Recommendation:

If you are facing the problem of dry hands, then definitely yes. It is worth a try, especially in the winters when the hands are the most exposed part of the body.

Will I Repurchase?

Yes, I will, when this tub gets over, which I don’t see in the near future.
