Colorbar Makeup Brushes Review

Now that I have used Colorbar Makeup brushes for quite some time now, here’s complete review. ๐Ÿ™‚

Colorbar Contour Brush 114 (Rs 700 /- Indian Rupees): If I have to describe this brush in one word, it would be “horrible”.ย  I bought this brush obvious for contouring and mainly because I found it cute. Initially it was a soft brush then it became scratchy after a wash or two, then it was soft fo a while and now it is back to scratchy. :-X The bristles have scattered, they shed and the brush does nothing other than scratching my face.

Colorbar Eye shadow Brush 119 (Rs 600 /- Indian Rupees): Great brush for applying eyeshadows, it packs on the colour well, you can blend a little with it, it is soft and it does not shed bristles at all. It has a tapered end that makes the application easy and gives you a good control. Even after washing it so many times, it is in a perfect condition. :-* :-* :-* :-*

Colorbar Eye Smudger Brush 121 (Rs 600/- Indian Rupees): It is a round brush. Works well for smudging the eyeshadow or doing crease work or just adding a little dot at the inner corner of the eye. It does not shed bristles but it is a little scratchy. But since the bristles are not too much you actually don’t feel any major scratchiness. I like it. :-* :-* :-*

Colorbar Angular Flat Eye 125 (Rs 400/- Indian Rupees): I bought this brush mainly for gel liners but I found it too wide for a liner application. However, this brush makes an excellent lip lining brush. This brush can help you create aย  perfect pout. Does not shed bristles and is soft. Love it! :-* :-* :-* :-*

Colorbar Foundation Brush 111: This is my favourite brush among the lot. This is the only brush that can match the softness of The Body Shop Nature Minerals Foundation Brush. It does not streak, the foundation application comes even, does not shed bristles, does not drink up too much foundation and is going strong even after 40-50 washes. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Colorbar Fan Brush 129 (Rs 400/- Indian Rupees): This is a very cute brush and does the job well. I use it for a light highlighting on my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose etc. It picks up the colour lightly and makes a great brush when you just want very little colour or highlight on your face. It is soft and does not shed bristles. :-* :-* :-* :-*

Overall Verdict about Colorbar Makeup Brushes: The brushes are of good quality, they do not shed bristles, look classy, have strong handles, decently priced and are long lasting.

Overall Rating for Colorbar Makeup Brushes: :-* :-* :-* :-*

  1. I would love to buy the Foundation brush as well as the fan.

Rati : Do give ELF blender brush a try..I am sure you will love it ๐Ÿ™‚

Ki : TBS blusher brush is too good..I guess their brushes are definitely worth buying..

    1. Not seen elf here in Delhi yet. ๐Ÿ™ Yes after the nature’s mineral brush I can imagine the quality of the rest of the brushes as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. You are gonna love me for this…check out http://www.eyeslipsface.in ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Never knew they had an Indian website until I did a google search

I haven’t ordered anything yet but I think shipping is free in India…most items show a shipping charge of 0.00 ๐Ÿ˜›

You can see the price of items after you add them to your wishlist

        Happy shopping! :-))

      1. ๐Ÿ™‚ …If anyone successfully orders from them, please let me know…The only reason I haven’t placed an order yet is because the post at my place is kinda iffy…Have been missing a few items in the mail lately…Don’t want to order anything until I’m sure my items will reach me ๐Ÿ˜›

  2. Sounds GOOD!!!

I was at the Colorbar counter today.. And the SA told me that the company is bringing some new offer ; where they’ll be giving a brush set free on purchase above 1000/-

I have put my Colorbar shopping on hold till the offer is launched…. :rotfl: :rotfl:

  3. oh wow!! Just don’t take the contour brush even for free. ๐Ÿ˜› I think they might be wanting to test their brushes in the market.

  4. I loved reading these review Rati. That contour brush does look scratchy n horrible ..LOL ๐Ÿ˜€
Personally not a fan of Colorbar brushes, which is why I’ve just bought one smudger brush to test n it’s hard n scratchy as hell! I find them too overpriced for the quality too. Their Foundation brush looks good though.

    1. lol!! The contour brush reminds me of a broom. I will try to use it for show piece cleaning purposes. lol!!

The smudger brush is a bit scratchy but since it doesn’t have too many bristles, I don’t mind it too much. Love the foundation brush. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Palak its not that great but it’s okayish. I was obsessed with MAC 219 but since that is not available from many months now, I bought this. A cotton swab would work equally good.

    1. I also bought foundation brush after long time. I used to use my fingers and sponges for foundation application. Now I prefer foundation brushes. This way there is less wastage of foundation.

  5. Hahaha… ya that’s a good way to make use of it. Actually the smudger brush I got is a different one-Flat smudger brush 122. Correction: Not as scratchy n hard as I described previously, but not Rs.500 good ๐Ÿ˜

  6. The first one really looks bad – like a tiny broom! ๐Ÿ™‚

But the others sound nice – as of now I use TBS travel kit brushes along with a few Vega ones ๐Ÿ™‚
