Hello Beauties,
So here I’m with my next review on IMBB. First thing first, I have never used any makeup product on my face. Thankfully I was blessed with a very good and clear skin but an illness and steroids took away that blessing from me and I was left with an acne face and lots of weight gain! 🙁
So I decided to try some foundation and concealers to hide those acne marks. I purchased Revlon’s PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup (Shell) and they say it is a new formula of the previous product.
So read on to know if I liked it or not!
Product Description:
Revlon’s PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup gives you a pore less, airbrushed look. Revlon’s new formula offers a light filtering technology that delivers a pore less, airbrushed finish. It also offers ultra-refined multi-dimensional pigments for a flawless luminous complexion.
Price: $14.99 for 30ml
Ingredients:
About Octinoxate:
There have been several tests performed on the side effects of octinoxate, and the results show that it may have a negative impact on the endocrine system, which is vital to keeping the hormonal balance intact. Octinoxate has shown to increase the development of estrogen in cells, as it absorbed rapidly into the skin when applied. Octinoxate also decreases thyroid hormones in the bloodstream, which may interrupt normal thyroid function.
The dangers of octinoxate exposure are not just limited to women, however. Many studies have shown that it can also have a negative effect on the male reproductive system. For example, a lower sperm count in laboratory specimens and an overall reduced weight of the reproductive organs have been reported. While it’s unknown what levels of octinoxate were used, skin care experts agree that the quick absorption into the skin and bio accumulation are major contributing factors to side effects, as the chemical can quickly affect the entire body, and not just the specific areas where it was applied.
How to Use:
Apply PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Makeup after creating the ultimate base with Revlon’s PhotoReady Primer + Anti-Shine Balm. Use either your fingers or a foundation brush to apply the foundation giving you a flawless, airbrushed look.
Packaging:
Revlon’s PhotoReady Airbrush Effect foundation comes in a nice compact and strong glass bottle containing 1 oz/30ml of product. It has a convenient pump that allows the foundation to come out easily without creating much mess.
My Experience with Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation:
I really wanted this foundation to work. As I applied it, I saw glitter on my hand where I had pumped my foundation. As soon as I had a closer look at my face, I was almost left to tears. Those sparkles were glittering as if I was a Twilight star! 🙁 As soon as I went out in the natural light I was in a shock, I could have definitely starred in the Twilight series!!
This foundation makes your face look so orange and cakey! It gives a good coverage but everything else is just unavoidable! It gets dry fast making it difficult to apply this foundation. I removed the makeup and the next morning I woke up with more zits! 🙁 Woowwww.. How much I dislike you Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect foundation! The saving point for this product is that it has SPF 20 and the pictures while wearing it comes out really nice! Other than that, this foundation is a total bummer and avoidable. I’m never ever going to buy it again.
Pros of Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation:
• Contains broad spectrum SPF 20.
• As the name suggests photos wearing this foundation come out really well.
• Fragrance free.
Cons of Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation:
• So glittery.
• Has an orange tint.
• Makes your face cakey!
• Dries out the skin terribly.
IMBB Rating: 2/5
Would I Repurchase or Recommend Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Effect Foundation?
I’m definitely not going to purchase it again, so disappointed with this product! I would not recommend it to anybody.

yikes – glitters? it`s such a nono for regular use…you couldve bought the Revlon Colorstay 24 hours mousse foundation which comes in a tub – because it gives a good coverage, has no glitters , matte finish and it has salicylic acid in the ingredient list somewhere. I`d suggest that you use a organic foundation or mineral foundation.
Thanks Arja for the suggestions 🙂 I’ll try it out!
Wow, it sounds perfect, Arja. Will definitely give it a try too.

Oh god! The chemical you mentioned scared me! This foundation is so bad, earlier versions were way better!
Glitters?Yikes..Never knew Octinoxate is so dangerous.kudos for taking the pain to research about it and posting it.Hope your skin gets its previous charm really soon.
Thanks dear :*
Glitter in a foundation is horrible. Thanks for the review, would never even go near this one.
I know how it feels when some medicine make you gain weight. 🙁
Yeah Shikha.. You should totally avoid it!
Sounds terrible! How do you step out of the house wearing something like that?!
Hope your skin goes back to being naturally beautiful 🙂
octinoxate is main active ingredient and the side efeects are terrible… shimmer in foundation is a big nono for me 🙁 I would stay clear of it..you can try their mousse foundation or Loreal true match 🙂
My sil bought this and literally didn’t touch it because of the glitters. Made her look like a disco ball and not in a good way!
Yikes! Thanks for the review. Going to steer clear of it. I hope you get your beautiful skin and good health back.
