Vaseline Lip Care Healthy White

Short Intro:
The Vaseline Lip Care Healthy White was bought by me primarily because of the neat packaging. Formerly, I had only used their petroleum jelly in tranlucent yellow dabbas, and I was pretty happy with that (though they were rather thick). So, I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t be treading too far off the beaten path by taking up a Vaseline product to care for my lips.

Ingredients:

The ingredient list was missing on the pack. So, I assume it is just petroleum jelly in a differnet packaging.

Product Claims:

The product claims the following:
1. Protects from UV and skin darkening.
2. 24 hour + moisturized lips.

Cost:
I bought the pack shown on the pictures for Rs. 60 and it has a shelf life of 3 years.

What I Thought About Vaseline Lip Care Healthy White:

The product comes in a very handy and compact squeezy tube. When opened, it has a spherical applicator surface with a tiny hole, which permits easy application on the lips. It can directly be dabbed on the lips. Healthy White is colourless and hence when applied, lips just appear to be a teeny bit shiny (as shown in the picture).

Though the package claims that it protects from UV and skin darkening, I am yet to see any effect on my already dark upper lip. Probably, it means that it protects from any further darkening. As for UV protection, I have no clue how to test it, much less measure it.

However, I bought it primarily for moisturisation and for its handiness, and I must say that it does a beautiful job and meets my purpose. I can use it anywhere, anytime and I am glad I can do that because it doesn’t stay on very long and I need frequent applications, mostly every hour. The package says “re-apply every 3/4 hours,”‘ but that defintely is not the case.

It only has a mild scent and I am happy about that because a fruity scent would have made me hungry all the time and wanting to smack my lips 🙂

Pros:

1. Packaging is compact and very handy.
2. Can be very easily applied on the lips.
3. Because the product is so compact, it can be used anywhere without any compunction.
4. Has a very mild scent.
5. Moisturises very well.

Cons:

1. Does not help in lightening of darkened lips.
2. Not sure if it helps with UV rays at all.
3. Needs frequent applications as it does not stay on very long.

Would I Buy It Again?

Definitely.

Rating:

I would rate Vaseline Healthy White a 4 out of 5, I am reducing 1 point because it needs frequent re-applications, but other than that, it is a beautiful product.

  4. is it just me or others also feel that why do they label lip products as “healthy white” ?:) ?:) ?:) what type of a labeling is that now??? and even biotique has one white named lip balm….shouldn they label it healthy pink or something else??? ?:) ?:) ?:)

  5. Kanika,

    1. @ Kanika and Visakhi
You gals are so right….Wonder why they try to make our lips white too, just like they try to make our bodies white ?:)
Guess it is to cater to the Indian mindset that anything which promises ‘white-ness’ can be easily sold.
