Today, I am here with a slightly different topic, i.e., teeth, because there are many people who do not have white teeth of appropriate size that are perfectly set. 😀 And sometimes, this defect might dominate so much on your face, that it could kill your confidence. Personally, I have a pair of slightly big front teeth, which don’t generally show much on my face. But when I lose weight and become skinny, my teeth definitely destroy my ‘otherwise good level of confidence’. So after a lot of experimenting and research, I tried to jot down a few tips for people like me who have a not-so-good relationship with their teeth. Read on to know more.
Seek medical help
The first step that I would recommend is to seek medical help. Visit your dentist for issues like yellow teeth. If you have protruding teeth, your orthodontist will definitely be able to provide you long term solutions for that.
The right makeup tricks
Now coming to the makeup tips, a very good idea would be to draw the attention away from your teeth. Highlight some other feature of your face and use a light or a neutral shade of lipstick. A very good example for this is Malaika Arora. Despite having noticeably big front teeth, she is considered one of the most beautiful women in the industry. If you notice her makeup, you will find that she hardly wears bold lip colours. She has beautifully defined cheekbones and she always highlights them. She also maintains a fit body. So her style, her body and her beautiful cheekbones definitely bring out the best in her.
Apply your blush right
If you have slightly big front teeth, apply the blush on the insides of your cheeks. This way, your face tends to appear slightly plumper and will definitely take the attention away from your teeth. This tip has been my go-to tip for a long time now.
Know if contouring is for you
I have another tip for protruding teeth. Try to avoid contouring, especially your cheeks. Because contouring your cheeks narrows your facial structure, which highlights your protruding teeth even more.
A healthy, radiant skin helps
Take good care of your skin and body. Because, trust me, good skin makes up for every flaw. And also, maintain a healthy weight, which doesn’t make you very skinny, because when you get really skinny, the teeth tend to stand out even more.
Smile…and then smile some more
Work on your smile. Stand in front of the mirror, smile in different ways and try to figure out what suits your face the best.
Try cool toned lipsticks
If you have yellow teeth, use cooler toned lipsticks, because the blue tones in the lipstick will cancel out the yellowness of your teeth and make them appear brighter.
Go for pink neutrals
When it comes to nude lipsticks, use pinker toned nudes rather than the brown toned nudes. Because most browns highlight the yellowness of the teeth.
Focus on teeth whitening

Confidence is the key
Embrace what you have with confidence. Remember that something as small as teeth cannot make or break your confidence. Google ‘Kalki Koechlin’ once and go through her pictures. She is nothing less than gorgeous. Now, look at her teeth. They are miles away from perfection. But her aura, her style, her body and her skin make up for that flaw so well. So, highlight the best in you and your flaws will fade away.
