I was so elated when Jomol asked me to write this article. Red lipsticks are my favorite. Even while doing natural, neutral looks; I cannot resist myself from picking up a red lipstick from my stash. When you choose the correct shade of red, it brightens up your face immediately. In this post, I will tell you about 10 red lipsticks from my stash that are absolutely amazing for dusky, Indian complexion. I have not used a lip pencil to line the lips before swatching. I have not used a lip brush and not used any concealer to make it look smooth and even. So they are not perfect. It is a blood red shade with a hint of brown. The color is rich and warm and is a perfect color for your ethnic looks. If you love bold lips, this one will help you to steal the show. The formula is smudgeproof and stays on for really long.
2. Sugar matte As Hell Lip Crayon Poison Ivy
This lipstick is getting over soon and I am surely repurchasing this. It is a favorite of mine and also of my mom. It is a wine red shade that looks matured and is great as a winter color. The formula is creamy matte and it stays on for really long.
3. Sugar Cosmetics Plush Hour Matte Lipstick 01 Cherry Jane
It is a cool toned red with a hint of pink. It is also a dupe for the iconic Ruby Woo that is also included in the list. It brightens up the face and is great as your “everyday red” color. It is matte and long-lasting.
4. MAC Ruby Woo Retro Matte Lipstick
This iconic shade deserved to be in my list. It is a cool toned deep red that brightens up all skin tone and it makes you look special on any day. You can wear it with full heavy makeup on or on your no makeup days and this will allow you to steal the spotlight. It is smudgeproof and waterproof.
5. M.A.C Retro Matte Love Weapon Liquid Lipcolour Metallics
This is a limited edition metallic lipstick form Mac and my absolute favorite. Metallic lipsticks are a huge hit these days. If you want to sport a metallic lip that does not look cheap with chunky glitters, try this out. It won’t feel drying at all. It looks subtle yet classy and looks great on every skin tone.
6. Nyx Matte Lipstick Crazed
Crazed is a beautiful brownish red or brick red color with warm undertones. This lipstick brightens up the face and looks great on all skin tones. It is perfectly suits medium to dusky skin tones. It is a soft creamy formula and is non-drying on lips.
7. Deborah Milano Fluid Velvet Mat Lipstick 06
This is a neutral red shade and would suit every skin tone. It is a very bright, vibrant shade that takes away any hint of dullness from your face. This is a great bridal red lip color and will make you look young and fresh. The lipstick stays on forever. But if you have dry lips, prep it well in advance.
8. Deborah Milano 24 Ore Lip Pencil – Shade 10
It is a true red lip pencil that goes with a lot of lipstick from your stash. It prevents the lip colors from bleeding. In this swatch, I have used it with some lip balm as my lips were feeling very dry. Normally, it has a creamy matte finish.
9. Kryolan Contour Pencil 910
This one is a wine red lip pencil that goes well with deeper shades of red lipstick. This is soft and creamy. It can be used alone as a lipstick too.
10. Revlon Raisin Rage Super Lustrous Lip Gloss
I am not a big fan of lip glosses and this is one of the very few I have. It is a burgundy lip gloss that does not look dark when worn alone on the lips. If you use it on some lipstick it intensifies the color a lot. It does not feel sticky on the lips and sits comfortably for 2-3 hours.
