We all love to stock our makeup bag with a number of new products from different brands. Be it mascara, foundation or concealer or any other makeup product, we keep them with us and even stock them up so that we can give our face a touch up whenever needed. But have you ever thought that there might be something in your makeup that might be making you sick? Don’t trust me?? Have a look at the points given below to know how products in your makeup bag can make you sick.
1. Not cleaning makeup brushes
When you apply your makeup using makeup brushes of course the finish is phenomenal. But have you ever thought that these brushes contain a lot of germs? So, washing makeup brushes should not be a weekly rather it should be a daily affair.
2. Touching your makeup with fingers
Many of you are in habit of using and applying your makeup with your hands. But the more you touch your makeup with fingers, the more you are transferring germs into your face.
3. Leaving makeup open
When you are not applying makeup and leaving them open then that is a major cause of infections and fungus. So, the makeup should be closed when you are not using them.
4. Keeping makeup sponges dirty
As you should wash your makeup brushes similarly washing makeup sponges is also important. Makeup sponges should be soaked in water every week and then washed thoroughly. And after 2-3 months of usage you should replace the sponge.
5. Using contaminated loose powders
Using and maintaining loose powder is extremely important; but when you dip your already contaminated brush into the loose powder then the loose powder also gets a lot of germs. So, try to keep the loose powder in small containers where you can use them up completely before they get the germs.
6. Using testers
When you try testers in the shop then you are applying makeup with a layer of dust and bacteria. A number of people have already tried it and it must be lying on the makeup shelves since months. So try to avoid it as much as you can.
7. Sharing makeup
If you are the one who suffers from problematic or acne prone skin, then sharing makeup is a strict no for you. Try to keep minimal and well tested makeup products.
8. Using glitter makeup products
This one might come as sad news for all the shine and glitter lovers. Makeup products containing glitter are prone to damage and contamination very soon. So, make sure you are done with all the glitter containing makeup within six months.
9. Using dirty eyelash curlers
Eyelash curlers are generally metallic which get prone to wear and tear. Thus, you should not forget to sanitize and clean your eye lash curlers in the same way as you clean brushes and sponges.
10. Not cleaning lipstick
Lipstick is one of the biggest store-house of germs. When you apply it on the lips and then munch on your food, all the artificial colours and pigments gets transferred. So it is always advisable to wipe the tip of your lipstick after every use to keep it as much germ free as possible.
For all the makeup lovers this must be a very important post as your makeup should not only make you beautiful but also keep you healthy at the same time.
